Even if the intel hurts Trump, it is nonetheless the duty of the DNI to tell Congress. Saving Trump some embarrassment absolutely pales in comparison to that duty. Its not even close.

All of you boiling this down to a simple question of institutional loyalty to Trump because he is President need to take a serious look at what you are saying. Put the shoe on the other foot and think through your reaction if the DNI did not tell Congress, including Republicans, if it found out that Obama was born in Kenya and was a member of al-Qaeda, because hey, Obama was President.

No it's not, it's pathetic. I haven't bought any girls scout cookies in a few years since I retired and I'm not captive to coworkers with girls anymore. I'm sure someone thought this was a great idea, but to me it just says you're really not great so we're going to make cookies that say you are.

You do understand that there is a portion of society that falls somewhere between "never-Trumper" and "Trump leg humper" right?
Those are the people that should surround Trump.
Trump is to weak to withstand even that. He is fixated on having no one other than "leg humpers" anywhere in his circle.
If you do not see the problem and potential dangers of that, I've got nothing for you.
