The truth about FSU

It might have just been me, but a lot of their players also looked a bit (just in general) smaller

Again might have just been me though.

With a few different teams from FLA in the tournament this year, I think it's important for outside fan bases to understand we (UF) are still the best team in the state this year. We pounded FSU and a bunch of the directional FLA schools back in the winter before SEC play got underway; clearly establishing our superiority. So, even though FSU made a little noise by winning the ACC tournament, we should recognize that the ACC is obviously down this year (Lehigh beat Duke tonight, we destroyed UVA) and the Noles really aren't that good.

P.S. It'd be a nice show of class for fan bases like the Vols - who really have no dog in this fight - to cheer for their SEC East brethren to advance deep into the tournament. For instance, the whole nation will be cheering for a Norfolk State upset on Sunday, so it'd be nice to know the Vols have our backs as we play the role of Cinderella killers and crush their dreams. Same for UK...everyone will be gunning for them and I'm sure it'd be a nice boost of morale for some of their fans like Brian McCat, Papa, etc., who frequent these boards to sign on and see some messages of support from the Vols. There's a great chance for the SEC to have the football (Bama), basketball (UK or us), and baseball (us or maybe South Carolina, but more likely us this time) national titles this year. The Vols should be proud of these achievements because a rising tide lifts all boats.

I don't think anyone disputes the fact that UF has the best program in the state. And, it's also not in dispute how important it is to you to believe it.

I'm sure there are some fans on here, somewhere, who will pull for all SEC teams. But, Tennessee being in the NIT doesn't make me dislike KY Basketball and Calipari any less. And, I don't think my feelings on that are going to diminish the morale of Brian, BPC, or Hardwood at all.

Thanks for the sermon. I'd rather pour acid in my eyes than pull for any other SEC team. F em all. You pull against them all year long and during the season and all of a sudden we're supposed to pull for our conference brethren? Screw that nonsense. I have never understood that SEC loyalty bullsh*t. I hope they all lose. You think any of them pull for UT when they're in the tourney?Hardly.

Big Boi- They went on a run because the ACC was weak. The Noles wouldn't have beaten Vanderbilt, UK, or us this year. I predict Cincinnati knocks them out; but if not, then definitely Ohio St. Their team is a fraud.

OrangeBalls- I think that's a disappointing attitude. The Vols gain nothing by Norfolk beating us, Iowa St beating Kentucky, or even Wisconsin beating Vandy. I'd like to see a little more enthusiasm from the Vols for the SEC teams still playing. For instance, I came over here today interested to read about what the UT fans were saying about our strong showing against UVA and there were only like 1 or 2 comments on the game. Had UVA beaten us, I bet there would've been an entire thread making fun of us. It was the same thing in football - Vol fans didn't even acknowledge our bowl win over the Buckeyes. It would just be nice to see a little more enthusiasm for a fellow SEC East competitor.

If FSU can beat Duke twice and UNC twice they could beat Fla or Candy. I'll give you Ky. Hell, UT beat Fla and Candy 3 outta 4.

And I'm sorry we're not here bowing at the altar of Fla. This is a UT board after all.

The Vols also gain nothing if Fla beats Norfolk, Ky beats Iowa St or Candy beats Wisky. Again, I don't pull for any team other than UT. I don't pull for any other SEC team outside of March so I sure as hell am not going to start in March.

I pull for the teams I picked in my bracket, whether or not they're SEC teams, and I pull against KY and Calipari.

.

Yeah... if they lose to the 2 seed in their bracket they're totally a fraud!

+1. It will be a cold day in hell before I ever root for UF,UK, or Vandy in the tournament.

Interesting comment coming from the fan of a Billy Donovan coached team. I know...two championships...but that talent was off the charts.
