The truth about FSU

With a few different teams from FLA in the tournament this year, I think it's important for outside fan bases to understand we (UF) are still the best team in the state this year. We pounded FSU and a bunch of the directional FLA schools back in the winter before SEC play got underway; clearly establishing our superiority. So, even though FSU made a little noise by winning the ACC tournament, we should recognize that the ACC is obviously down this year (Lehigh beat Duke tonight, we destroyed UVA) and the Noles really aren't that good.

P.S. It'd be a nice show of class for fan bases like the Vols - who really have no dog in this fight - to cheer for their SEC East brethren to advance deep into the tournament. For instance, the whole nation will be cheering for a Norfolk State upset on Sunday, so it'd be nice to know the Vols have our backs as we play the role of Cinderella killers and crush their dreams. Same for UK...everyone will be gunning for them and I'm sure it'd be a nice boost of morale for some of their fans like Brian McCat, Papa, etc., who frequent these boards to sign on and see some messages of support from the Vols. There's a great chance for the SEC to have the football (Bama), basketball (UK or us), and baseball (us or maybe South Carolina, but more likely us this time) national titles this year. The Vols should be proud of these achievements because a rising tide lifts all boats.

Go Gators

That was actually pretty clever, imo.

The Gators obviously did so well because they didn't have any insanely early start times (anyone who was in the last UT-UF game thread knows what I'm talking about)

I have mixed feelings. On the one hand we drew Norfolk State in round of 32. On the other hand, Gators have won by average margin of 30. That's pretty good.

Well, that's how they won it in 2006. They walked through what was probably, by far, the most broken path to the Final since the expansion to 64 teams and then played their best game of the season.

It won't be that easy this time.

But, when you're a 7, and you make the second weekend, there's reason to celebrate, regardless of who you went through.

EDIT: I take part of that back; the 2006 run was very broken but not quite as much as I thought; I forgot that the Elite Eight opponent was a 1. I have spent too long thinking Nova was a 5. My perception of UF's '06 run managed to cloud my memory.

You've done nothing wrong when you've slandered a Gator.
