I cannot believe the performance that many participants on this site accept from our coaching staff. They are paid alot to "TEACH" the game of football to the skilled athletes we recruit. We struggle getting plays set in correctly and beating the 45 second clock and this is acceptable. This doesn't even mention reading and reacting to the opponents defense, personnel and game situations. How many times must I read "the players are not executing?". They cannot execute the garbage they are being asked to do on the offensive side of the ball. :focus:

Then how do you explain the Texas A&M game, Sarge?? Do you honestly expect the Vols to win every game they play?? I'm sorry, but I think everyone, including myself, is overreacting. We lost. We lost to Florida. We have lost before. We will lose again. No matter WHO the coaches are, no matter WHO the players are, we will lose now and then.
We will have brilliant games too. That's what makes football so fun. If I knew the Vols were going to win every week, I'd quit watching.

Hey Sarge if u have read any of my posts the last few months u would see that i am as down on the UT coaching staff as anyone. There record over the past decade may be impressive and really I guess thats all that matters, but if u watch this team every year u can see a big decline in player development, discipline, and i guess most of all how to utilize our talent. I knew it was a matter of time before it would catch up with them and if it takes UT losing 4 or 5 times this year for everyone to open there eyes and see it then so be it.

Go luck at sarges first few posts on this site.

It was after we beat UGA when he says the players won the game and not the coaches now.

Now that we lose, its the coaches fault and not the players.

Go figure

OK Here we go....I am gonna say first that I agree with everything you have said....I am a life long VOLSFAN grew up 30 miles from Neyland Stadium. I love my Orange and White....I talk more smack about my VOLS than anyone I know....I was in the Swamp on Saturday night I live in Jacksonville, FL now. I just knew we were gonna hand FLorida thier asses.....I have never been so disappointed in all my life. Phil needs to be given an choice either fire Randy Sanders or your gone. He is the most pathetic offensive coordinator I have seen. I can live with conservative to a point. But we have to much talent on our team not to have produced a win last night. Listen the defense was spectacular. I just think our offense was not prepared for the game Sat night and that is Randy Sanders responsiblity. I just hope this is not another season of a talented team wasted. I would like to know what others feel. Oh by the way it does not get any easier...LSU Georgia Bama, Notre Dame need I say more.....I'm off my soapbox...
Cheers,
Geo

Amen. The player keep the coaches job. I don't know what U-T from Louisana is talking about. The players at Tennessee win in spite of the direction their given. { on offense }

I'm tired of hearing about Texas A & M. Does a win last year mean that he is free from criticism this year? I was pissed off more than I ever have been last night. Luckily I was at a friends house and couldn't get too angry. If I had been at my place, I'm sure a wall or 3 would have been broken. If Tenn had been beaten by Fla I wouldn't be so angry, but Tenn beat them, just came up on the shortend where it matters the most, the scoreboard. Fla made the plays when it had to, didn't make as many costly stupid mistakes, unlike Tenn. I've never seen such idiotic playcalling. And as far as Texas A & M goes, when your D causes that many TO's and gets you great field position all game, its easy to put up points. Whatever, I'm still too pissed to make much of a response. I know its just a football game and the sun will rise tomm and the next day, but I'm tired of Tenn having as much talent as any team in the country and not using it worth a da**. I"m sick of it, but I'll be watching next weekend waiting on the team to meltdown once again in a big game that could easily be won.

How about the SEC East Title with a freshman QB and another inexperienced QB whom half don't want starting anyway?

It's always nice to get the SEC east title, but is that enough? I mean, Tennessee is a major football program. Why should we just be happy with the SEC East title?

No but IMO it shows that we have someone that can win against quality teams.

We beat UGA at UGA, who was a Top 5 team. We have beaten UF the last two times at their place.

Countless other examples

I can't stand Sanders overall....I can't! But I also don't think firing him will solve all of our problems

Randy Sanders is an asst Head Coach as is John Chavis.....Phil Fulmer is the Head Coach figure head......I guess if Fulmer does not tell Sanders no don't call that play his silence in concurence...Fulmer is a defensive mind....Sanders runs that offences! Fire him now salvage the Season!......

Sure, if competing for the SEC East is your goal, then by all means, the coaches are just fine. I'm a Tenn fan that has higher aspirations. Nothing against the East because it is the hardest in football, but if thats our goal every year, kinda sad. I know its a stepping stone to a national title, but it should just be that, a stepping stone, not THE GOAL. Tenn has wasted a ton of talent in the past and it looks like this is going to be another one of those years. I really hope I'm wrong but its not looking good for the boys in Orange and White.

No one is saying the East is our goal.

But the way some people talk, we can't beat a .500 team with RS when it is shown that we can

That has got to be the most realistic, down to earth response to a post that I can ever remember.

BRAVO, LIO! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

I do think that Fulmer may need to spend more time coaching the Special Teams himself. This coaching by committee thing is apparently not working.

Fulmer said that special teams now have his full attention. I think it took too long for that to happen. But then again, what do I know.

I don't mind losing. Being outcoached 7-8 times a year is prepostorious. You think a man from Morristown, with his coaching pedigree, can lead a multi-million dollar business and get the job WITHOUT an interview for the job???? hahahahaha :biggrin2:

We are stuck in a rut. Our recruiting of offensive skill players will eventually diminish all together, and we will continue to play down to the level of competition. Period.
