Would the fact that Ware and Jones signed today lead us to believe they have been given assurances that CBP isn't going anywhere?

No,but by Hamilton telling them that he had better back it up . Otherwise if it were to get out that he lied to them it would be another nail in our coffin.:redface:

What the Hell do you think he's going to say? "Pearl's done as soon as the season is over."? Jerry Jones has been saying for six weeks that he wouldn't fire Wade Phillips. How'd that turn out?

Ok, Indiana was saying Kelvin Sampson would remain their coach 45 minutes before the press conference announcing his resignation. Like that comparison better? I think Hamilton is going to do everything in his power to retain Pearl. I just don't read anything into him saying what every other AD who has been in that position did.

I agree with the bold statement and will add that comparing other situations from other universities is pointless. Every situation is unique and Hamilton has tipped his hand in that he expects and wants Bruce to be the coach here for awhile as you acknowledged. My point was that no one expected Hamilton to tell a recruit any different, but Hamilton's words and actions to this point have shown that Bruce is going to be our coach if it's up to him.

The Indiana AD's job didn't hinge on retaining his basketball coach. Hamilton's pretty much does.

The Ncaa laying the hammer would not be a reason to fire Pearl. If we were going to fire him for what he did... he would have already been fired.

The more interesting thing will be if Pearl is eventually let go prior to next season (which I doubt will happen), what will the school do regarding these two players LOI's? I have mixed emotions about that scenario. If Hamilton promised to release them from their LOI's if Bruce was terminated then it would make more sense than just saying "He's not going anywhere."

We are having some server issues. For some reason the volume keeps jamming up the server although its not supposed to be doing so. Its only temporary until they get the issues worked out. It was beyond annoying the other day getting the "maximum server load has been reached, please try again later." message. Considering the high volume of guests we have, it seemed like the easiest way to limit access while they repair the network.

Perfect logic. Should the NCAA suspend him for a year, there would be no difference in the situation than currently exists?

I agree, its good to have the ink on the paper for obvious reasons. I am excited about this class, and the 12 class even moreso. Go Vols!!!
