A lot of people thought the ncaa's punishment was too harsh for Bryant and that he should have only been suspended, which is one of very few ways to penalize players.

Dez Bryant simply met Deion Sanders and hung out with him. It was the lie that cost him his season. Without the lie he probably sits four games. I have a feeling thats the same thing thats going to cost Pearl. However, it could be a penalty directly enforced on Pearl and not so much on the team as a whole such as a suspension or recruiting sanctions for him without a scholly reduction or postseason ban for the team. Its a bit unprecedented but the NCAA has been quite unpredictable lately.

Suspending Bruce is a de-facto penalty on the whole team though, so I am not sure exactly how they are going to proceed. It is so hard to speculate on this situation, so I am doing my best to wait patiently and see what happens come December.

As long as you avoid the most hated phrase from the NCAA (Lack of Institutional Control) then everything will be pretty light. However, having three sports investigated at the same time means that term is very likely to come out.

Thats good. I dont think Lane did anything significant in football despite the 6,000 secondary violations.

Lane committed more and worse violations than Bruce... but he self-reported them... Why Bruce? WHYYYYYY???

Technically, you are correct Hat, but lets be honest. Lane openly stated that he didn't care about secondary violations; especially when they helped land top recruits. So knowingly and willingly yes, I would say he did that. Had he broken the SAME rules in the same manner previously? I will admit I have no clue.

No one cares about secondary violations, as long as you don't lie about them. I don't like Kiffin because he left my favorite team in an awful spot, but people are drawing all sorts of conclusions because they don't like him. In my opinion, there's no reason whatsoever to think that Bruce is any better of a person than Kiffin.

Its hard to disagree with that given the current situation Bruce has put us in... among his other transgressions

You're probably right, but at least Bruce accomplished something while at UT.

Exactly...Kiffin committed 6-7 of them the first two weeks he was hired and he self reported them once he realized they were infrations and nothing was done nor was even speculated besides the occasional opposing fan bashing him for it.
