By what criteria are we measuring better? Comparing the new coaches record next year to Bruce's first year? Raising attendance, going further in the tournament, setting single season winning records? What is the measuring stick? If it's opinion based, then I don't see the point.

I don't think the next coach will do better than Bruce on any of those measures.

I want off the list please. You have either read too much into my comments about prospective hires or misread my sarcasm. While, I understand that Pearl probably needed to go, and I believe we will get a decent coach, I'm not bullish on UT hoops right now. Pearl was a top 10 coach IMO.

Valid point.

Better at committing recruiting violations? A better cook? Better liar? Better at committing additional violations while already under investigation?

That's kind of what I meant earlier. It won't be difficult to find a better x's and o's coach, by that criteria, count me in. I do however doubt we'll ever see the level of sustained success we have over the past 6 years again any time soon, so if that's what you meant, count me out.

And don't get me wrong. I have no problem with the university ringing up Pearl. It's just a stretch to think the next coach will out perform Pearl in any measurable meaningful stat.
