No he wasn't. He was saying Gruden all along when he wasn't even interested. Even on 12/5 he was saying UT and Gruden were talking. Well, if they were, it was about a charity golf tournament or something. It had nothing to do with him coaching at UT. He also said Butch Jones was Plan B. Well, considering UT was turned down by Gundy and Strong before they turned to Jones, I would say he was more like Plan D. That's assuming UT wasn't turned down by even more people we don't know about. Jones was one of the coaches listed as a candidate all along, it's no secret. Anybody on this board could have guessed the results of this hire just as well if not better, considering VR missed on Gruden badly. He was never coming here, except in peoples dreams.

My source informed us a few weeks ago that Butch Jones was the backup plan.

BOOM! Butch Jones is the new Tennessee coach!

There are many, many twists and a firm timeline what really happened.

I wasn't posting over the last day due to what really was happening behind the scenes and I was told to just let it happen and not break any news! I The UT process went really well since Tuesday when Jon Gruden was contacted once again. I can confirm that JG was just not committed to the NCAA ranks and worried about NCAA regulations and how his staff and him would work in that area. UT tried hard.

Butch Jones as the admin was prepared went after Jones like I said and he was hired.

This will be my last post for a while. I will be going to the live press conference which is funny because tonight I was to meet a large UTEP booster who is in the process of hiring there football coach as well he is iconic in the Christmas lights display contribution and will be going to see some of his stuff but that will be tomorrow....

So I will be busy. Maybe back late Saturday.

I did say Butch Jones because I knew how UT was handling. I reported earlier how UT had internal issues when some went a different away from the plan. However that is probably why UT didn't hire Gundy and Jones.

Ok first I will be attending the press conference /
After I will be meeting a UTEP booster due to there football coach process (very interesting) and a close friend of our family who in facts puts on a major christmas lights display. It's wonderful.


There were internal issues that is why Gundy/Strong turned down UT. I believe. I reported to you all that UT admin were looking at Butch Jones and it was all but done. BJ waited and waited for the JG to close. But some at UT really wanted to wait. Others turned UT staff to other coaches. That caused some arguing and I believe the candidates really didn't get a feeling that UT wanted them.

Well Butch Jones was the B plan. It's who many wanted and they got him.

I will be away maybe until Saturday night. GO ORANGE!

Why? If you ban VR, there are hundreds of other dipsh!ts on this board that need to be banned as well.
