they've already signed 5 OL in this class, iirc. getting VAlentin would bring it to 6, which would be great considering the shape the OL is in currently. and the two Jucos will be expected to play this year. which is key.

Think we only signed 4 OL in early signing period (Carvin, Lane, Antonutti, Johnson).

I'm not trying to be contrary. But I don't recall seeing anything that said we were only going to take one. Point me in the direction of where I can find that.

in the shrout thread, there's several inferences about it "helton got his qb this cycle".

stuff like that. no one on the staff made any kind of statement about QB #'s this cycle.

just knowing they processed Penix, while still holding a commitment from Martinez, tried to keep Martinez....and then ultimately making the last ditch effort to get shrout...after Martinez decommitted ....and no one else....

they didn't start recruiting Shrout until Martinez was basically out of the picture.

that tells me they were only planning on on 1 qb this cycle. it just wound up being Shrout instead of Martinez.

I guess you guys missed how our 3 played this season. But you know, we only need one...

A little competent D1/SEC quarterback coaching will go a long way with JG and QD, something neither has had yet. Both have the talent to play well here imho.

Then throw in a talented true freshman and strong preferred walk-on. I think we’re ok at QB unless injuries really hurt us.

I'm concerned that the only OL listed is a 3 star JUCO. I think we should be beating the bushes a little more on that position. Other than that I have no real complaints.

I thought we were trying to get the Wonnum kid. Did I miss something there?

They are trying but he is kind of a long shot. I think a couple schools are leading over us.

Taking 2 Qb’s doesn’t work any more. Too easy for guys to transfer. They never make it more than a couple years.

i know eason just announced he's transferring, but fields and fromm on the same roster is almost wasteful.

clemson still had hunter johnson, and is getting lawrence....and bryant is the starter.

need to spread the wealth. they're all doing something to sell these kids on coming, despite the uber talent ahead of them on the roster.
