The Walking Dead

In the season opener when the group is leading the herd away from Alexandria, did anybody else notice that all (or nearly so) of the female walkers were wearing dresses?

The herd also seemed to be in surprisingly good shape considering the only way most of them ended up in the quarry to begin with was falling down a steep, rocky slope.

There was a large group of people that originally set up the quarry as a safe haven. (The scout Heath told the Alexandria group). Then they went Jonestown. They probably dressed up for their death. Would account for the relative clean look to some of the Walkers. The tore up walkers likely were the ones that fell in...

Not bad for someone who lives in the evil empire of Southlake.

Trying to help and I get attacked? Harsh vader :)

FYI, the neighborhood next to mine has stone walls around it. Block 2 streets and it should be pretty safe. May be too large though (ie Alexandria) :hi:

That's sad actually. Using a giant pit as a safe haven is akin to building a major city below sea level(New Orleans). Strategically it's a horrible idea as well as you've got only two entrances/exits plus is another group wanted to take you they've already got the high ground so it'd be like shooting fish in a barrel.

Lived in Grapevine before we built in Southlake...

Trying to decide safer with Houseboats on Lake Grapevine or fortifying BassPro. Whatcha think?

I'd say both if you could manage it, but a place like BassPro would be a giant target for scavengers.

BassPro got everything! And right next to the mall as well as Whataburger! Walkers hate the Rainforest Cafe.

Fuddruckers in same parking lot as BassPro

Wall off the Ground floor of that Embassy Suites and there is plenty of living space for everyone we know...if they can get there. :hi:
Easy enough to build a rooftop walkway between hotel and BassPro...I think they physically connect.

BassPro's big parking lot gives you plenty of advance warning of anything approaching.
Set snipers/observation posts at 4 rooftop corners of building and two southern corners of Embassy Suites and you are secure from anything except military level invaders...

Haven't given this much thought...:)

Since I live about 10 min from there, count me in.

Hey. I like the houseboat idea

There are several really big ones at Lake Grapevine... Anchored in 60 feet of water should just about do it…
Fairly large cabin cruisers too. Surprised at all the big boats on a relatively small lake...@12K acres maybe less.

Also gives you an easy access to the surrounding communities.

This episode likely features Rick and the gang herding walkers and not so much Alexandria if at all.
