The Way I See It….

Good take. Like I said in a different thread, all of the pressure is on Bama. We weren’t expected to be as good as we are this year. Can we beat Bama and Georgia? I think so. If we finish 10-2 and go to a New Years Six Bowl would this season be a huge success given what Heupel inherited? Absolutely.

If we’re honest with ourselves we never thought we’d be in this spot one year ago. If we‘re honest we know we’re not supposed to win tomorrow. If we’re honest we know Bama has more talent than us at most every position. All this said do I think we can win? Hell yes. We have a great chance to win. In my opinion if we don’t allow Gibbs to gash us and we do not allow Will Anderson to hit Hendon Hooker I truly believe tomorrow could be one for the ages. Most importantly, no matter what happens I hope all of us are proud of these kids and what they’ve done thus far. I hope we’re all proud of Coach and the miracle job he’s done already. I have a feeling that this year things are just “meant“ to happen and we very well might shock the world come 7:30 tomorrow night. Go Vols.

small or Wright need to put him on his ass and set the tone so he can watch Keyton to the checkerboards for 6!

I think we have advantage at two positions even when you factor recruiting rankings.

We have always had highly-touted Offensive Linemen, they just haven't live up to hype until maybe this year. They haven't played bad so far. However, we have had mostly 4 and 5 stars on Offensive line for years.

I would also argue that our WR core is on par if not better from a ranking aspect. Bruce McCoy was a 5 star and Jalin Hyatt is 4 star.

However, in most other areas, I agree.

Not sure about our defensive line as that has also been a strength so far for us this year and they have matched up well with everyone we have played.

My Dad told me when I was young to never bet on the Vols to win or lose. I ignored that rule in 98 Arkanasas when they got the ball when we did not get a first down on 4th down. He bet me 300 dollars we would get the ball back and win the game. Best 300 bucks that I ever lost.
That is a good rule to live by. I have only bet on Tennessee once - Florida in 2001. We were a 17 point dog. We were way too good that year to be getting that many points.

Great post. Think it's how most all feel. Win or lose, we are BACK...and the standard of winning expectations is a great feeling that I've not had in many years.

Just curious ... where do you watch games in Vegas? and don't say "my living room" ... I mean, what's your favorite sport's bar or sportsbook? And don't say Bellagio ... That's a snooty old person place.

I did not think we would be undefeated at this point, but when the season kicked off, it suddenly seemed "special!"

Coach Heupel can flip-the-script on saban meaning making bama play catch-up and putting the pressure on saban to coach and the players to most importantly.....execute. It is always easier to play leading than behind and bama does not play behind very often but when bama is behind in the fourth quarter.....bama is as subject to lose as any other team. And lose today they will!!!!

Agreed. The three keys for victory:

1. Get up early and keep the crowd engaged throughout.
2. Win the turnover battle.
3. Get off the field on 3rd (and 4th) down.

None of that is rocket science, but especially in a game like this if we can keep the pressure on, not give them any short fields, and not allow them to fall back on their run game, which I believe Saban is going to try to maximize with the QB uncertainty, we can get this done.
