I saw what she did this year and I am not too excited. I honestly think that UT should wait two years and higher Bruce Pearl to be the Lady Vols coach.

I think our program will take a serious nose dive over the next 3 seasons with Holly at the helm. We will lose any edge that we had in the recruiting arena and that will take us from a top # 5 program to a top #25 program.
The only way that she may succeed would be if this season, she had her hands tied, so to speak, because Pat was still around. Maybe just maybe it will be different, now that the team is her's. I don't put much faith in that, though.
We lost alot of players due to graduation and now the team will be more youthful and in experienced but the schedule will not get any easier.
We used to think that a 10 loss season was a bad season. Now, we will see 10 loss seasons on a regular basis.
I equate this to Fulmer leaving the program and Randy Sanders being named the head football coach.
It is a disaster waiting to happen.
By the time that Holly is fired, the program will not be recognizable and no coach with any previous success will take the job.

Did I misread the topic here? I thought this was the We Back Holly Thread. So let's do just that. The coaching staff, team members and especially the fans need to stay positive and give Holly our support. Hey, she did fine this year leading the team to the elite 8 for crying out loud. And that under the MOST difficult circumstances imaginable. So wait until there is an identifiable problem before you start calling for her head.

Pat picked Holly, she knows what she's doing and knows who to pick. A meltdown and lack of faith is what the enemies are preaching on the recruiting trail right now. I, for one, have a ton of faith in Holly, she was picked by Pat, and if we back Pat, we back Holly.

I too have my reservations about the direction of the program under Holly; however, Holly 100% deserves the job. She is the epitome of being a team player; could have taken many other head coaching jobs for more money and stayed. Deserves several years -- at least a full recruiting cycle -- to prove that she what it takes. If she doesn't, then she'll have no problem getting another job somewhere else and TN will go out and grab someone else. The good news for the Lady Vols is that there are TONS of great former Lady Vols out there, who are big names and will attract recruits, who would be willing to come to UT and take the healm. And who share Pat's philospy. GBO.

Pat has faith in Holly. Why shouldn't we? I am proud of the way this program has been run with Pat at the helm. I believe the class, traditions and success will continue.

Holly was loyal to Pat for 27 years. Just because you stick around doesn't mean you automatically get the job. If Holly was a great coach is what UT deserves she would have left years ago. JMO

Me, personally, I would feel better with Nikki Caldwell at the helm. However; with the depleated roster we have now, it will be a challenge for anyone who steps in now.

I 100% agree with this. Next year will be a rough year no matter who is coaching. We are way undermanned in the post next year and experience is slim.

UT and it's coaching choices ....

This is an elite basketball program and we get stuck with this decision. Postponing the inevitable.

She bleeds orange. Give her a chance.

Randy Sanders bleeds orange. Hell, he stayed at U.T. for his senior season because the coaching staff asked him to stay to provide depth at the q.b. position.
He was on staff for many, many seasons. That doesn't make him the best choice to replace Fulmer.
I doudt that this was Dave Harts wishes. He was doing the Politically Correct thing by letting Pat name her replacement.
I would have rather of had (1) Nikki Caldwell, (2) the womens basketball coach at Kentucky and then if they fell through, then get (3) Holly Warlick.

I hope Kelly Jolly gets plenty of experience at N.C. State and maybe she can replace Holly in three seasons.

How are we doucebags or negavols by providing recommendations who have UT ties ie. Nicki Caldwell and Bruce Pearl. We have an opinion and just because differ from you, you resort to name calling.
