Not much good you can say about the quality of play tonight but I thought I would add maybe the only positive thread of the night.

This team played with a Will to Win even when it was apparent winning wasn't possible by scratching and clawing with all they had to keep that game from being much worse.

Some may call our play dirty in the 2nd half I call it a very encouraging sign. Those guys didn't have IT tonight but they showed they will fight to the bitter end for the jersey on their back and their head coach.

Tonight sealed the deal for me with CM. I am damn proud to know that my team is coached by a man that demands his team play mean, physical, and if you are lucky enough to beat us your ass is going to have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning.

I'm with you. I thought most players fought hard all night, just didn't play well. CCM just needs players. Recruit, Recruit, Recruit!!

I have been to memorial many times and tonight doesn't surprise me in the least. The way we executed tonight if we didn't have that toughness that so many tonight are questioning in other threads we would have lost by 30pts or more with the kind of night we had.

i was glad to see the guys keep fighting and not just give up like they could have.

When I see a team do that, it tells me a lot about their competitive character as individuals and what they think of their head coach.

We didn't defend well at all especially the 1st half. I'm looking forward to March 3rd.

Tonight sealed the deal? We got spanked up and down the court......I like CCM and think he will get the job done but he has to prove it on the court with wins and losses......some things he has done impresses me and some really disappoints me.....we are below .500 which is where we were predicted.....

There is more to a coach than wins and losses. I am looking past a terrible performance by seeing a team that proved to me that they won't accept losing a game or a losing season. They did nothing tonight execution wise that was positive but the effort was there to the bitter end and that is more than any other 9-11 team would have shown.

I thought they did not defend very well tonight, and still held Vandy to 65 on their home court.

When you are stuck with McBee guarding Jenkins or Taylor very long your gonna give up points.

Our 1-3s can not handle the ball in the open court or half court for that matter. When you add 20+ turnovers to dismal shooting from this group you are gonna struggle to find 40 points in a game because its a stretch to expect that out of Stokes and Maymon every night.

CM needs another recruiting class or 2, he is getting about all that is there out of this bunch.

In your opinion what makes us 5 or 6 wins better next year?

Experience is the biggest reason. Followed closely by an understanding of what CM wants from his players. The players have changed so much in just the last 3 weeks I can only imagine how much different they will be come next November.

That's fair but at the end of the day you still have to have the players. I think the key is wing, can someone step up. I think we can succeed with golden Richardson stokes and maymon but we need a wing to step up big. JMO.

Very fair point about the wing spot hurting but I would argue this.

That weakness will keep the 2012 team from being elite but won't keep it from being good. That team can be a 20 to 23 game winner without a great player in that spot.

If Martin turn us from a 15-17 this year to a NCAA tourney team with 20-23 wins with pretty much the same roster that's impressive.

I don't think we get to 15-17 this year. I see the next vandy game a game to get us to 14-14.

He can't bring in anyone else in this recruiting class so don't look for much improvement via recruiting for a while. This freshman class and the tfr from Pitt seem less than SEC caliber unfortunately. Maybe some of the worst guard play in the history of guard play last night.

A team filled with players that didn't play last year and CCM learned last night what a SEC rivalry game really is. Vandy came out and kicked our ass from tip off and never let up.

What a great counter I am! Lol

I see us at 15-15 going in to that last Vandy game with the NIT on the line.

It's all good. Well If ccm takes us from 15 to 20-23 I still say thats an impressive coaching job. Hell have pretty much the same team and if he can get then to the tourney next year that'll say a lot.

You seem so beaten down from last night. I am not discouraged at all by it. I have been in that building many times before and I expected what happened. Its going to be a fight to make the NIT and what I saw last night this team will give us that fight.

Where did you see all this fight? We allowed a team to beat us up talk trash and dance all night on us....it is true that we played pretty much even in the second half but that could have been bc Vandy didn't have the same focus and intensity in the second half. We never ever made any kind of run in this game.

We gave up 25pts in the 2nd half to a team that kept their starters in the entire time. A team without a fighting attitude that won't except playing less than hard all the time regardless of the score wouldn't have done that.
