Yes. And aren't they the most penalized team?
Still doesn't mean they don't get called for others they do. Facemask, late hits on QBs that were initially called "targeting"... late hits on a receiver out of bounds... you know.. things like those...

In other words, they are an undisciplined mob that gets away with a lot more than they get called for.

That and rarely do their penalties come at a critical time.

The problem with the stat that Bama is one of the most penalized is it lacks context.

JG is just as good as Peyton.

The point in the game, impact, field position, etc always seem to benefit Bama when the flag is thrown. It also doesn’t take into account flags that aren’t thrown, or game stoppage. It isn’t just the number of penalties, it’s the officiating in general. There is a difference and there is more to it than just one stat showing total number of penalties or yards.

How many times has Bama suddenly had random timeout called by the refs when they were in wildcat formation?

One fewer than the number of times our opponent was gifted a timeout with the clock running so they could kick a field goal that ultimately provided the winning points.

Right. The issue is always the undefinable, nebulus "penalties that aren't called" or "when the game is already out of reach" or "critical moments." It's amazing how the quantifiable numbers are always meaningless, but the undefinable are always critical.

Still had a shot to win the game if you hadn't had an extra man on the field...

So, you're saying that Bama got called for a penalty at a critical point in the game? Weird. The past few posts would make appear that such an event never occurs.

Quantifiable numbers aren’t meaningless. Never said they were. But they aren’t the full story either. Hell, the committee uses the undefinable “eye test” to help determine the 4 best teams for the playoff. You know it when you see it and the SEC seems to have no intent whatsoever to address the criticism with any kind of real transparency.

I said rarely, I did not say never. big difference.

Bama was only in 2 games that ended within one score. They lost both. In both games, the officials proceeded with lengthy reviews that ultimately required the league to issue statements explaining the decisions. Both reviews went against Bama, and both reviews ultimately led to a score.

100% of the time that the refs could reasonably be said to have possibly made a difference for Bama, they instead helped the other team.

The idea of bias is absurd to anyone who isn't desperate to believe it.

Saban's time is coming to an end. Alabama's defense is no longer the dominant force it once was. Alabama's offense is not the juggernaut of yesteryear. Alabama has lost his star power and Saban's decline has begun. It all started when he lost Jeremy Pruitt to Tennessee.
Yeah sure. First time in years they won’t finish in the top 5. A real dumpster fire there! Bet they are already having conversations with CJP😂

I doubt it. I wouldn't be surprised if Alabama won it all next year. Especially if Tua returns.
