Thing is, Iowa is actually a pretty middle of the road place. Should be a layup for one of the mainstream candidates.

I’ve got family there. It’s a weird mix of people. I’d describe it as conservative people that support socialism because they are overly generous.

It’s nuts that Iowa and New Hampshire have the clout that they do. Seems like it would make a lot more sense to group states together geographically to help the campaigns and hold 7 or 8 primaries at once every couple of weeks from February-June.

I think they are concerned that the ballot box could be stuffed. As if someone found a trunk full of ballots they forgot about.

Changing primaries would require changes to some states' constitutions. I believe Iowa's Constitution says they must have the first primary regardless of when that ends up being.

Sounds like there were major glitches in the system and rather than force out some unverified results, they are willing to take the public shaming in order to make sure they get it correct.
