The Woke Olympics

Sticks and carrots are how life works, at work where you spend 1/3 your life, and have little say and another 1/3rd sleeping.
Have no idea what your second sentence has to do with anything.
Face it..you live by carrots and sticks or tell ur manager to FO and see what happens

It's almost like telling you the point of OP has no impact on your contribution to the discussion.

Oh, I thought you said life, not work. I'm talking about being a POS or not.

Nothing forces me to drive below the speed limit in bad conditions, I do it because I'm not an idiot POS.

Speed limit and work incentives have little to nothing to do with heaven and hell.
Speed limit. So you are a government suck up. THe concept of an imposed 'speed limit' has nothing to do with actual safety.. you just sucking up to the Man.

And all this time I thought you were some kind of libertarian. Nah. Just a liberal in sheep's/wolf's clothing.

Haven’t watched a lick of the Olympics. I do hate I’ve not been able to see any of the women’s beach volleyball, particularly the Brazilians and the Swedes. Are we still getting shut out of the medals?

You can't imagine my personal disappointment when I just learned that I might have missed my chance at Olympic stardom, years ago. I was a friggin' dead eye with my Daisy air rifle.
No lie…. I could blast a bird out of a tree from 90 feet. The Daisy 880 was a lethal weapon. Pellets left an exit wound the size of a nickel.
Me and a friend used to set up baseball cards at various distances and heights and pretend we were snipers…..

John Lennon’s ‘Imagine,’ blared at the Olympics, is a Totalitarian’s Anthem

The Olympics opening ceremonies in Tokyo featured one of the worst pop songs of all time: Yes, I’m speaking of John Lennon’s “Imagine,” sung by a large children’s choir and a bevy of celebrities.

As a fan of the Beatles and Lennon especially, it pains me to say this, but it’s true: While its melody and arrangement are indeed beautiful, the lyrics are an invitation to moral and political chaos.

Consider the opening verse: “Imagine there’s no heaven / It’s easy if you try / No hell below us, above us only sky / Imagine all the people livin’ for today.”

I frankly can’t imagine anything worse. To say that there is no heaven or hell is to say that there is no absolute criterion of good and evil — no way of meaningfully determining the difference between right and wrong, no standard outside of the subjectivities of each moral actor by which to say any one agent is better than any other.

'Imagine,' blared at the Olympics, is a totalitarian's anthem

Here’s the part I chuckle at when the rich limousine leftists sing the song.

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can

I was an ace with the spring-loaded guns that shot suction cup darts.

Bc there are 9 million different ways to consume media today? No that couldn't be it. Has to be wokeness. That makes more sense.

It’s almost like they should have some metric that combines tv ratings along with streaming views.

Hope you didn’t shoot up a Sandy Koufax or Hank Aaron rookie card.

That is too much to be exposing kids to. Let adult situations be handled by adults.
No no.... kids can handle those kinds of things. They should make their own decisions as to whether they want a sex change at age 10. All those kinds of things... Until they commit heinous 'adult' type crimes in which case their puppy and 8th grade graduation pictures and bedroom full of toys are shown and we are all told how hard their life has been,

It still means a lot less people are choosing to watch the Olympics……. The tracking devices can tell if you are watching the olympics through regular means or streaming the olympics.

NBC has totally botched the programming. Its hard to figure out what is live, it sucks knowing the results before it airs.

That's been a problem for a long time. The famous 1980 USA vs. USSR hockey game was shown on tape delay. Fortunately, it was easier to keep the score under wraps 40 years ago.
