After watching these 5 games I have realized one of the reasons why defenses are able to have such success against our offense. Worley, will start leaning forward on all run plays about a half second before snap and lean back on all pass plays...100% of the time. There is no surprise for the defense as to what is coming. He even leans back on playaction passes...

I would have to see that documented play by play before I buy into that assessment.

Offensive scheming is not the problem. The plays are there to be made even if he is telling them what's coming.

ehhh...if the LB's and DB's are keying in on it they already know they can cut their decisions in half...plus not having to worry about playaction makes life much easier...

watch...it is subtle but once you see it you can say run or pass before the ball is snapped...

I'm not about to watch the replays of this team and analyze the tendencies of Worley, this team is painful enough to watch the first time through much less on replays.

If you've seen Worley throw the football you already know the defense can cut their decisions in half.. Some of it's on the receivers, some of it is because he's wildly inaccurate, throws off his back foot when pressured, and looks like a deer in headlights half the time.

I still feel like Worley's biggest problem is that he can't hit the broad side of a barn.

After reading this I went and watched the all offensive snap videos.

I only see it on plays out of the shotgun, but he does in fact do it on 100 percent of all plays out of the shotgun.

Now, Freak, close this thread immediately before Richt finds it lol

It's all in his head. Have you guys watched Worley's press conferences? He has zero confidence even when speaking with the media. He looks scared and unsure all the time. If there's a defender within 6 feet he's back peddling and throwing off his back foot. Confidence is way harder to fix then just throwing mechanics

When fans finally realize that the QB is only one of our many problems, will they finally be able to see the big picture. We still don't have the skill position players like Alabama, LSU, Georgia, South Carolina and the like. We still don't have LB's like the better teams and we don't have any depth...the list goes on

Watch any football game ever. You can tell it's a running play if the O-line is leaning forward ready to attack. If they are back on their heels a bit it's a passing play. This is not a new phenomenon.

It may be one of many problems but I think it is by far our biggest problem.

Good QB play can completely alter your dynamic as a football team. So can bad QB play.

The difference in winning 4,5 or 6 games total this year could entirely be based on QB play. It is the most important position on the football field and it isn't even close.

The rest of our team is at least serviceable. Right now we look as bad at QB as anyone in the country. It is gross.

Good eye Aaron. ...and it is important. Its another detail which has to be fixed and just sheds more light on how many areas need fixing. Butch and company have had and continue to have a ton of work to do to turn this around.

If Worley is tipping off the D, that equates to the D not respecting the run threat, which equates to more pressure, less time to get the throw off, and less accurate passes.

Agree. With a good qb, the Florida game would have been a dogfight to the finish and possibly a Vol win. The S. Alabama game would have been a blowout with us covering the spread easily. BTW, we would have still lost to Oregon but not humiliated.

not only that, but Worley clearly telegraphs all his passes-- he cleary stares down the WR he is going to throw to.... you would think by now these bad mechanics would have been addressed. worrysome....

Part of the problem I think this isn't the offense he ran in high school. 90% of the time he had no RB in the back field and it was 5 WR sets.

I am not saying this solves our problems on offense...what i am saying is that for LB's and DB's they can keep their eyes on Worley pre-snap, quickly read if they need to play the run or pass (and even if it is play action). whether or not worley is "accurate" is not the entire problem...being accurate has a lot to do with whether or not the D is already keyed into receiver or ball-carrier. As far as reading O-line or not, for a DB it is much easier to watch the QB and determine responsibilities. it is a lot easier for a QB to throw if the DB and LB have no idea if you're running or passing.
