The WTF story of the Day

Don't know if this is the best thread, but some of you may have heard there was a 911 call of an active shooter this morning at my daughter's high school in Church Hill, TN. After evacuating all the kids, sweeping the school, and enduring no shortage of rumors and hearsay from social media, turns out the call was apparently a hoax. Who the **** thinks it is a good idea to do something like that?

Hoax 911 call

And then it turns out to be an 18 year old from Canada??? Weird.

California ski resort changes name to remove offensive word

How is Squaw offensive?
It's the name of their tribe.

Is African offensive?
Spanish offensive?
American offensive?
Russian offensive?
From reading the article, it sounds like the word also had another meaning as well that I’d never heard of before.
The word “squaw,” derived from the Algonquin language, may have once simply meant “woman,” but over generations, the word morphed into a misogynist and racist term to disparage Indigenous women, according to experts.

I guess we can make any word we want offensive?
Oh well............

I don't believe the word itself is offensive. However, I have heard it used in a disparaging way many times. Guys I knew from the Dakotas liked to raz each other by attaching "humper" to it.

How much would have to be paid to participate in this study?
"If you're wondering, they recorded the latter by feeding the subjects stewed beans, attaching balloons to their rectums and monitoring the output. "

BTW, would this mean that Vegan men are a source of greenhouse gases, and need to go the way of the gasoline powered automobile?
Or, considering the low likelihood of vegan men actually reproducing, we could just do nothing and let natural selection do it’s magic
