The Zebras were the real difference

Refs were definitely trash. They completely ignored Florida holding time and time again and well as multiple pass interference penalties overlooked. It would have been closer if the game were called fairly but I don't think it would have been enough to win. The entire feel of the game changed with Hadden's missed tackle that led to a 60 yard TD when Tennessee was up 7-0. How did he not wrap the guy up instead of trying a bump tackle?! The entire game was inexcusable.

There needs to be a public facing review panel that grades officiating. As gambling on college football (all sports really) continues to become more available and prevalent, the temptation to fix these games must be squashed. If a game were to review poorly in regards to officiating, all bets should be void and monies returned flat.

I’m not a gambler personally, and I don’t think that officiating cost us this game. I do feel this has to be addressed though

If you have to rely on the refs to beat one of the worst Florida teams in the last decade, you probably aren’t a good football team

Yeah, all the false starts, the center moving the ball, the offsides on 4th down, the overpursuing each and every runner, the weak ass attempts at a hit stick a la Madden that barely touch the ball carriers, all didn't matter.

Nope. We screwed this up just fine ourselves
Agree.

A couple things I have:

1) in trying to come back, you can’t come up empty on points in 3rd & early 4th Qtr possessions. FGs might seem meaningless but they do give you momentum & options later
2) In the last series, you gotta try to get the first down BEFORE 4th down.
3) worst coached game I’ve seen from Heupel & his staff while at Tennessee. I still support him but Napier got him pretty good tonight

When Harden missed an easy tackle that gave up a huge run I knew we were in for a long night. He is not a good player. Refs were bad and bias but that won't matter now. I think Nico should play some in the next game, perhaps a whole half to see what he can do.

The refs stunk on ice in the 2nd half and the AD should protest multiple calls with the conference.

But Tennessee played like @#$%. Officiating arguably stifled the comeback. But they didn't dig the hole Tennessee put itself in.

Funny we blamed the “Zebras” last week for the poor showing against Peay as well lol…. But remember one thing Bazooka Joe “doesn’t lose in the state of Florida”

They were not.

The correct way to look at this is Tim Banks and Huepel wet the bed and when they got things better the refs stopped any chance of a comeback.

You're also forgetting Mertz was hurt. How bad is the score if he's healthy?

This is a fair analysis.

Florida went for the throat early and we folded up and let them dominate us. Once we got our heads out of our Burt’s the refs made sure we had no chance to dig ourselves out of the hole, but it was definitely on us for being in the hole.
“Heads out of our Burt’s” has me chuckling and I’m not sure why.

Can’t pin this on the refs. This is a bad football team. We let AP hang around. Southern Illinois crushed them. We are playing FCS ball. Get ready to lose to SCjr, Mizzou, UK. 6-6. And lose a recruiting class. This team is not tough or skilled or well coached. Another embarrassment. It is what it is. I hoped for more. Here’s to 3rd or 4th in the East.

I disagree. They definitely screwed us out of a comeback, but if we play even decent in the first half then a comeback isn’t needed. Florida is not a good team and we made them look amazing.

The refs were horrible but coach H made some bad decision. The defense was terrible in the first half. Joe was making bad choices. Blame to go all around.

If this team doesn’t grow up fast, we’re not beating many teams…

It was a plethora of things...they were only a part of it...That was the most disgusting display that I've seen in 53 yrs of sports

Number 58 held Baron 3 times in the first half and twice in 2nd and didn’t get called for any. They showed replay of 2 of his holds and commented on another.
