We beat the Kentucky Kittens in Lexington just about as easily as in Knoxville. Here's proof:

1979 to 1991 - Johnny Majors beat the Wildcats in their own stadium six different times. Ouch.
1993 to 2007 - Philip Fulmer never lost to Kentucky. That includes eight, count 'em, 8, trips to Lexington. Heh.
2009 - He was barely our head coach a week, and yet Lame Kiffin was still able to take Kentucky down at their home, 30-24 (in OT)
2013 and 2015 - Butch Jones brick-by-bricked the Wildcats in their own house--sorry, I mean grocery store--twice...one game 27-14, the other 52-21
2019 - cornbread lover Jeremy Pruitt went into Kentucky and brought home a win, 17-13
2021 - with a decimated roster, Josh Heupel marched into Lexington and beat the #18 Wildcats, 45 to 42. Ouch for them, that was "their year"

I could've gone back even further (for instance, Bill Battle went to Lexington and brought home a W three times in his moderately brief tenure), but it's kinda all Vols just about as far as the eye can see.

For those counting them up, yes. With one doofus of an exception, every single Tennessee head coach in the modern era has beaten Kentucky at their place. Often, they did so repeatedly. Almost always, in fact. Right at 90% of the time (18 of the last 20 in Lexington).

We're gonna stomp them in Aisle 15 of the Lexington Kroger mart this Saturday. Not only because we're the better team with better talent and better coaches. But also, it's a tradition.

Go Vols!

I just hope we can get up for this game..........I'm not going to lie, I've been in the doldrums since Saturday night and I just cant get into this week. I've been moping around, not watching every talking head on the youtube, or visiting Volnation every 4.6 min (I'm at a 7.2 min avg so far this week). (Which is AWESOME in a sense because I haven't been like this in quite a few years where I let a loss effect my week 😁......must mean we're back.)

I’ve been up there for many if not most of those games. I can’t make it this year, but I hope my fellow Vol fans will color the place Big Orange and create a home feel for Tennessee. They’re running the ponies at Keeneland this weekend, so it’s a great weekend to go to Lexington.

History is just that "history". Very few look back this day and time. It's what have you done this year? Not interested in what you did last year. What are you doing for me NOW??
If you don't think momentum exists in football, you can go hang out with Gary Danielson. He doesn't either.

It exists tactically, in the context of a single game. And it exists strategically, in the mindsets of coaches, players, and fans.

We are inside Kentucky's head, collectively speaking, just as Florida has been in ours for a few decades now. But we've been in Kentucky's far longer.

Go Vols!

Did not say a thing about "mo". My question is what are you going to do for me now? Don't give a tinkers dam- about last year or any other year. Just what are you going to do for me now!

miserable vols fans look at Kentucky beating up on the Dredges of the SEC and think they're on the same level as us. Even in our lowest point they only won 3 times. Tennessee won't lose this weekend. Their home field is pathetic. They'll give up when punched in the mouth. I'll be there singing "Lets go Krogering!🎶🎶🎶🎶"

It’s the kiss of death. We have fans post these bold statements days before a game, then the Vols fail to meet those expectations. I’m not predicting a win or a loss, certainly wanting a win of any size. I may be a pessismist, but to make a statement like the OP is pure homerism and not based on what we have seen from the ‘23 Vols on the road.

I actually get what you are saying. We just came off of a tough loss to Bama, Kentucky is coming off of a bye week, and we're playing in Lexington. After carefully considering all of these factors, I've come to the conclusion that WGWTMFA.

We are to them what Florida is to us. With the way our defense is playing, we'd have to lay a real stinker Saturday to lose.
