My top 3 would be

1. Tressel (doubt we would even go after him but he was a success at OSU and we would definitely have a recruiter).
2. Gruden (just because of the Sabaneffect and quarterback coaching, but his track record isn't that impressive).
3. Patterson

I know that you guys are talking top 3 but if it gets a little bit more down the list do you think art briles could be contacted. I know its baylor but he has had a pretty good run at baylor not saying he is my top choice of course i think they throw the bank at gruden and try to get him, but if these top guys don't take it he could be a solid back up plan just figured i would add my two cents.

It is safe to say that the "A List looks like this:

"A List"
1) Gruden
2) Mora, Jr
3) Jimbo Fisher
4) Bob Stoops

If we can not develop anything from that "A List", I would look at the following in order:

"B List"
1) James Franklin
2) Al Golden

Like him or hate him, Franklin is a rising star. He is a fabulous recruiter, fabulous motivator, and a very good coach. I don't care if he coached at Vanderbilt. The guy is is one of the best coaches in the collegiate game and he is going places.

Franklin is heads and shoulders better than Charlie Strong.

I don't want Strong. We DO NOT want another connection to Florida. Plus, he is not in the top ten on my list. His team was slaughtered by Syracuse which is not a very good team. His wins were against teams that Dooley would have beaten. Thanks, but no thanks.

I think it is down to Gruden, Jimbo Fisher (Florida St) and Jim Mora (UCLA) If the Gruden coaching does fall through. Will everyone think Fisher and Mora would be good choices. I like Mora if we do not get Gruden. I like the way he has UCLA playing. He is young and i think he would be a great fit for Tennessee.

Why does nobody want Jimbo Fisher? Yes, he still hasn't gotten over the hump just yet but has brought FSU back from mediocrity without dirty re rioting and they are now stocked with enough talent to win the big one. The talent they are raking in is ridiculous.

Fisher would play UT to get a raise and stay at FSU. Same with Mora at UCLA.

He's a mouth breather extraordinaire. Seen him make some of the most inexplicable dumb calls. I would basically lump him on equal footing with Cutcliffe, whom in no way do I want either.
