Thigpen needs a new title and a bonus + a buyout

Someone is probably going to come after Thig. Until then sing his praises and when they do come after him do what is necessary to keep him. I'm sure all parties can come to an arrangement. No need to rock the boat until it's time to.

You do realize that recruiting coordinator is more than just a title don't you ? It's an actual job and a pretty self explanatory one at that. The coordinator doesn't have to be the best closer on the staff.

So you want to mess with the system in place and put the coordinators job and responsibilities on top of Thigpen instead of having him constantly in living rooms doing what he does best ? Has it even occurred to you that Thig may like the set up as it is ? Not saying that's a certainty but it's often the case with closers on staffs.

Like I said, pay him his worth and let the system in place ride. If it ain't broke don't fix it. JMO
You know what...It's occurred to me that you are right.:)

Maybe we should start a Thig fund :)

I have no worries that Coach Thig will get himself a nice raise. Hart isn't stupid.

Making Thig a recruiting co-ordinator will take time away from his recruiting skills as the RC position requires lots of organizational stuff. Let Thig be on the road doing what he does best!

OTOH, he totally deserves a raise!

that is to be determined :)

i do think Thig should get a raise,to help keep others from recruiting him,but he will probably get an offer from somebody that he can't say no to and UT can't beat or won't,but who knows as to when and if that happens ?

I don't believe in buyouts. If someone wants to leave then I don't think you should try and stop them. Bunch of women on this board that would use pregnancy to keep their man.

Hell, if I'm Butch, I think I would write Thig a personal check.
If Butch is the mason in this wall building, Thig is the brick maker.

Our legacy foundation is responsible for more recruits than Thig. When kids band together and all focus on getting other kids to join them, it makes for amazing recruiting classes.

I wish it happened more often, but Butch gets it. He got the legacies to buy in, and then turned those legacies into recruiting machines. He told them who to recruit, and when to put special attention on certain kids. And it worked like a charm. Expect to see more of that next year with our early commits teaming up and recruiting other recruits.

While that is a hilarious line.
I do think if guy leaves for a lateral position,if at all possible, it would soften the blow to receive compensation from the school that hired him. Since the coaches are under, and I use the term loosely,a "contract".

Butch + Butches boys recruiting = average ... and it is proven with historical facts

Butch + Thigpen = beyond all our expectations and national recognition

Butch and his boys could have got national recognition at Cincy but they did not.

What was missing?
