Yes.@Orangeslice13 have you ever removed a sunken (death) Jacuzzi Tub?
Holy shiz.Replacing the switches in a 4-switch bank. 3 single pole and one 3-way. Removed the cover and SHAZAAM! The first thing I noticed was the 3 single pole switches had 18 Guage stranded pigtails with automotive connectors at the switch on the non-load side. The 3-way switch was defective. All else looked fine.
House was built in '77 and I assume it was totally rewired at some point because all the wiring appears to be 10 Guage solid copper which makes it quite the task of stuffing the wire back into the boxes.
No and I was wrong about th house being wired with 10 guage. It is all 12 guage solid copper. I take it the house was rewired some time in the past 20-30 years. The reason I think it was rewired is that every thing I've read, they were using copper clad aluminum back in the '70s new construction.Did you have to pull 14 in its place?
People do crazy things. Here is the crazy... I do not understand why they used those pigtails (jumpers). All the 12 guage wires I put directly to the switches. Absolutely no need for the pigtails.
Talk about crazy! My house n FL built in '74. Back then they used "aluminum" ground wires!!! Over time aluminum expands and contracts and removes itself from the anchors causing spark n burning housed down. The solution is .... retrofit end of alum' wires with crimped copper eyelets. Talk about an excruciating job ..Here is the crazy... I do not understand why they used those pigtails (jumpers). All the 12 guage wires I put directly to the switches. Absolutely no need for the pigtails.
Flat roofs on a house would scare da hail outta me. I've seen a ton of videos of the damage from leaks due to improper construction and the repairs that have to be made.People do crazy things.
I had a leaking metal roof on a million dollar house last week. The roof was flat so metal not legal. We pulled the metal roof to switch to a commercial style rubber roof. There was no decking under the metal. 1x furring strips but no decking or underlayment.
Gawd only knows what the thought process was
Da fook…I thought as we were finishing up the decking “I should probably take a picture of this. View attachment 715574
