And the taste difference of a native and a recently stocked trout is night/day.Once, I was fishing for stocked rainbow and caught a native brookie. Rule was cannot take brook trout, but the little fugger had swallowed the hook. It was in its gut. I cut the line and put it in the basket. Watched it for awhile. It didnβt recover. I took it home and ate it.
Hard to keep fish when you never catch any. Probably a good strategy on your partI let him swim away freely after a 5 minute fist fight, and I kicked him in the nads. Actually, I rarely do keep fish, when I catch any . I'll keep trout a couple of times a year, and some crappie. I've only ever kept one fish from saltwater, and it was a redfish.
