Did you do the work alone? What brand? Did the chain ride in rail? Did you have to replace that part?Spent 3 hours changing out a noisy garage door opener... went with a belt version. Sweet, have to look to be sure it is moving, it is so quiet. Happy it went smooth, I was able to use existing wiring that was hidden in the dry wall, once I figured out color codes being used for the controls.
Easy project for one person. Just use 2 step ladders, one for you and one to support the motor as you align and mount to ceiling.Did you do the work alone? What brand? Did the chain ride in rail? Did you have to replace that part?
I'm expecting something to go wrong with mine any day. It's 12 years old now.
Thanks, I don't think about how loud mine is until I'm around a quite one.Easy project for one person. Just use 2 step ladders, one for you and one to support the motor as you align and mount to ceiling.
Chamberlain (LiftMaster), 3/4 HP belt drive.
Yes the chain seemed to ride low in the rail and made some noise.
Good news, all the existing wiring is good to go, just find the color combinations of the wires that control the door control and the sensors. If you guess you have a 50% chance of being correct... it took me 2 chances to figure it out.
Home Depot is where I picked my up.
