This one was told to me by an 85 year old woman in a nursing home. She was telling me about her younger years and a drinking toast.

I'm not sure but this might be a Mae West quote.

This isn't some sage quote or anything but in The Risk Pool, Richard Russo had this great description of the winding roads in a certain part of town:

Ever been to Venice, Italy. Every road is shaped like an apostrophe. They start out about 15' wide and gently curve to a 6-8' wide dead end.
One of the many places I've been lost.
