Is it possible for you to make a comment about coach Martin or the program without throwing out a little snipe about the previous regime, system, style, etc?

I know what you mean, but his inclusion of Pearl in that post is relevant when you read what people were discussing directly beforehand.

Right. So sarcastically saying Martin doesn't need to coach D because the team already knew how to play D, but refused to show they knew how to play D last year is relevant to Coach Martin and UT in what way?

I dont see anyone building him up as a guru. Actually, people are saying we'll play tough, hardnosed, fundamentally sound defense. That's a legitimate expectation.

Both scored 69.9 per game so would not the team that gave up the lowest points per game seem to play the best D

I was responding to the argument that TN's defense was better than M. State's last year. I don't care about the previous regime, system, or style. They are no longer here.

Martin vs Pearl, Pearl won but Martin's team looked better defensively to me. If that game was on a neutral court, I think Martin wins.

You best look in the mirror. You targeting someone simply reveals that they probably are making sense with their posts. If you can't understand the discussion of the posts, it would behoove you to simply keep quite.

Wrong ms queen. If someone makes, or made, a positive point about Pearl or his team, according to you, they are a Pearl lover and think he is a UT basketball god and will be forever, which is dramatic bs. You repeat that quite often.
If someone shows concern about CCM, (btw, I have not. I prefer to judge by what I will see), they are a hater, and again, you probably throw in a smartass comment about Pearlophile or something else stupid, such as the team already knowing how to play D, but the staff and team decided not to show they could. Your ilk and comments are as much of a reason why this fanbase will continue to butt heads and not move ahead, as the fans that think Pearl should still be here after the ncaa mess and refuse to support CCM.

I have never referred to anyone as a Pearlophile. My comment regarding the team knowing how to play D was in regard to the conversation that TN's D was better last year than M.St's D. I did see M.ST play against TN and felt they were much better defensively with less talent. I can agree with you that Martin was not a high profile hire, as many on here wanted. However, I do not agree that we have serious concerns about him prior to his coaching a single game here. I agree completely that everyone should make judgments about Martin based on what they see on the court. As for Pearl, I thought he was the perfect fit for TN until the NCAA mess, but could no longer support him due to his actions and the position he put the program in. He is gone and I'm tired of talking about him. Let's support the program and the coach we currently have and hope that he does a great job.

Perhaps. The article is interesting in that it quotes Tobias talking about the troubles and distractions of the team last season.

Folks, you heard it from Tobias Harris himself, Pearl was hurting the team.
