Think the dawgs are re-thinking things?

Gosh. Does he ever! We were discussing that during their game last night. He looks like a fool out their flailing around on every single play with his stupid looking visor on ... at night.

That guy was a tough nosed defensive player. What happened?

And as far as comparisons go, CKS inherited a far better situation to begin with.

Kirby’s sideline histrionics come across as showboating to me. It’s as if he wants everyone to notice how into the game he is and how advanced his knowledge is of the opposing offensive formations and personnel. His go-to move is to jump up and down feigning like he’s trying to get someone’s attention while pointing at an opposing offensive player. He looks like a total jackass, like an overly-assertive rookie linebacker coach trying to get noticed at Mississippi Tech Community College.

Maybe the Dawgs will calm down a little they are not bama yet maybe they will come back to earth but on the other hand now they know you got to work to stay on top not just show up if you think about it bama beat them twice not once they though they would just shown up and the horns would just fall of the steer.

LOL! So true. Like the poster said before. He acts like an overzealous grad asst. Embarrassing really.

When Butch used to go all bat-shart crazy on refs throughout games, I was always thinking "Is he collected enough mentally" to outduel the opposing coach? Time definitely told.

He's tanned, rested and retired, and probably laughing at the poor helpless Ugas:

Would be shocked if they got on the knees and BEGGED him to come back....probably not gonna happen but Kirby is only in Year 2 going into his 3rd year...does anyone see him at GA even remotely close to 10 years?

This seems appropriate for this thread:

Kirby Smart and Mark Richt numbers after 1st 3 years at UGA

CMR overall record: 32-8

CKS overall record: 32-10

CMR 2001: (8-4)

CMR 2002: (13-1)

CMR 2003: (11-3)

CKS 2016: (8-5)

CKS 2017: (13-2)

CKS 2018: (11-3)

They’re the same dude, only Kirby is way more irritating and behaves more like a jerky, overzealous grad assistant.

They're not the same dude. you can literally see the differences in their personalities reflected in the play of their players on the field. CMR's players were big and talented but seemed to lack heart. Smart's players have a bit more dog in them.

For my money, the best CMR teams were the ones with David Green and David Pollack, and I attribute a lot of that winning attitude to those two guys. They had that mentality that you can't really coach that just will not be denied. We had similar attitudes on some of our great teams in the 90s. You can see the same attitude in Baker Mayfield. I think we've had a few guys who were similar recently, e.g., Dobbs, Jennings, etc., but just not enough pieces around them.

Smart is a better coach and recruiter than Richt. I doubt Georgia is regretting anything other than the fact that Saban's ass may never retire.

so Pruitt looks stupid kicking Dry Erase boards wearing his hat at night?

Flailing his visor around all season sure hurt the OBC from ever winning anything substantive. Georgia mailed it in last night. Saban has had non championship playing teams mail it in. Ridiculous post is ridiculous.

I doubt they are rethinking anything, considering they've already been to a national championship game and two sec championship games in three years with their new coach. Meanwhile their old coach couldn't change enough to win at Miami and was basically forced to retire.

What point are you trying to make here?

Better recruiter but different coach, not necessarily better. He’s got his own soft spot just like Richt.

Ex: He let DC Mel Tucker leave before the bowl vs Texas which tanked his team’s mindset. Even though Tucker wanted to stay and coach the game according to ESPN radio. No way Tucker would have been allowed to leave if they had made the playoffs.

Teams take on the personalities of their HC. GA had a chance to beat the brakes off a rising TX team and PROVE they belonged in the playoffs. They should have had a chip on their shoulder. Instead they go into 2019 once again carrying that overrated “bridesmaid” label. Yes I think that matters

For my money, the best Georgia I've seen in this century was the 2012 edition. Todd Gurley, Aaron Murray, Alex Ogletree, Jarvis Jones, Kwame Geathers, etc. I put them up there, Bama had a great team that went on to demolish Notre Dame. They had one helluva offense folks.

If you're really wondering, I'm sure there are GA fora out there with members who could address your conjecture. Quite politely.

First, I bleed ORANGE, but I had respect for Mark Richt. Kirby was very fortunate to take over a well stocked team.

Easy to say when you don't count all those SEC wins. But hey, he lost a Natty Champ game and and an SECCG, so yeah, he just folds a lot.

Largely outside the playoffs these bowls mean little to the players a lot of the times. Maybe they beat Texas with Tucker but hell IDK that Georgia really cared.
