Third Saturday and SEC Expansion

The paranoia surrounding a supposed loss of this rivalry ranks right up there with some of the more nutty things I've seen on here.

Not as ridiculous as the assertion that we're not a better program currently in just about every single major sport than Tennessee.

But then again, "we're the girl at last call".

Get over yourselves.

I took his point to mean that even when everybody knew Tam was better than UT, we still beat you silly. JK. Lookit, we're not wanting to trash your fine school. We just don't want our conference screwed up because you guys can't get a bigger piece of the Texas revenue pie chart...or because our suits want a piece of it. Not that we don't like you; and it's not that we don't understand. We just don't want to mess up our seasonal traditions for you.

I think you just showed your youth by downplaying the tradition of this rivalry.

I'm not downplaying the tradition at all. You're misunderstanding.

I'm saying that the fact that people think a rivalry that has been able to stand for years and years will be scrapped with relative ease is absolutely insane. There are certain things that the SEC will not mess with, and what is probably one of the most storied rivalries in the country is one of them.

We owe the bammers and gators some whippings. But why should the suits care about that, when there's a pile of money on the table?

They would not get rid of this rivalry cause by history Tennessee and Alabama are the best team in the SEC.

Would you like to play this year? In any sport? Anything? Fn name it.

Whooo! Tex has got some fire in him.

If every A&M fan is like this (and most are) then I say bring 'em in. The SEC is known for having some passionate fans after all.

Plus A&M isn't that bad of a team. Give them a couple years in the SEC and they'll have some recruiting advantages over Texas for sure. Prob. won't drastically change things over night but in the long run it will help if A&M and hold their own in the West.
