This Bowl Season has been Unwatchable

Watching Mr Irrelevant throw 3 or 4 picks and get benched was must see tv. If that is a preview of the superbowl, I will probably find something else to watch that night.

Yeah. Just ignore his season stats. 1 game means everything 😆

Just watched Kensucky blow a 4th qtr lead. LOL

Sad thing is, UK had ClemPson beat the whole day.

edit: I always emphasize the 'p' in Clemson because I live in SC and it irritates the heck out of their fans. ;)

Mediocre teams, terrible games.

Maybe the action will tick up this weekend. That being said, I'd watch the worst college game before I tune into the NFL.

I’ve enjoyed watching football every day. I am indifferent to the playoffs because the selection is subjective and arbitrary, but the bowl games have had decent matchups.

Do you think it would help with parity if you just had a playoff system? Seems like we always have the same 2 or 3 teams every year?
I don't think so. CFB as a sport, throughout history, hasn't had much parity. Had a playoff existed in the 90s, for example, you'd have some assortment almost always including Nebraska, UF, and FSU in it every year. It is the same 2 or 3 teams every year, but who those 2 or 3 teams are changes. In the CFP era, the only team that is "always" there is Alabama. They've only missed it twice, ever.

The school with the next most appearances is Clemson, but they've missed it 3 years in a row. The school with the next most is Ohio St, but they've missed it 2 out of the last 3 years and have "only" the one title, in the very first year it existed. Oklahoma has 4 appearances, but infamously hasn't won a single game and hasn't been in 4 years. After Oklahoma is UGA, but they're kind of a Johnny-come-lately to the 4-team playoff; they didn't make it until 2021. Michigan is in the same boat as UGA, except they haven't won a single CFP game.

After Michigan, the appearances actually get really spotty. Washington and ND have been twice, followed by 7 schools who have just been once.

Sure. Texas St playing Rice sure was more fun than the 49er/Ravens game.

Again. If someone has to point out they don't watch the NFL, it just means they watch and watch a lot. You like football. You watch. No one believes you.
I quit the NFL 3 yrs ago. I’ve watched the Super Bowl last yr at a party. After watching college football all day on Saturdays, I’ve found doing other things on Sunday is good for me. I don’t give a damn if you believe me or not.

You give a damn, or you wouldn't have responded.

So, you don't even watch on Sunday and Mondays Nights when that's the only game?

Thanksgiving, you don't watch at all?

It’s certainly possible. I haven’t watched a complete NFL game in 5 years. Just not that interesting. Of course, college football is on the same path since it’s now NFL Lite with NIL and free agency. Outside of watching UT, I’ll be playing more golf and watching my grandkids sports teams. Much more entertaining.

Been an overall bad product so far. 82-84 teams make it to a bowl. I'm not sure how a bowl is even a challenging goal these days.

I quit watching NFL games, for the most part, a long time ago. Don't know exactly when or really why, just lost some interest. Go to most UT home games or watch college football all day on Saturday. After church on Sunday, I have too much to do, like golf or yard work. I'll check in on scores, maybe watch a little bit of the Falcons or the Titans, but that's about it. Nothing about the NFL thrills me anymore.

Kentucky vs Clemson was the best game so far and all the action was in the 4th quarter. The OU collapse vs AZ was fun.

It has not been a great year for bowl games.

Same here. I couldn't care less about the NFL. If I am home and the Titans are on and I have nothing else to do at the moment I might watch some of it, but like another poster said I can't remember the last complete game I've watched. It just isn't that interesting anymore.
