EDIT: Since I'm obviously offending a lot of you, this isn't meant to be taken COMPLETELY SERIOUS. It's a satirical comparison of Basketball to Football with the current state of affairs.

I do, however, mean to imply that I am MUCH more proud of our basketball regime than our football one. Thanks.

Why would we want you in the basketball forum if you are just going to bail when times get rough......I will be at the Bama game wearing my orange just like I was at Thompson-Boling Arena during our five win season. I have no use for fair weather fans like yourself.

Cool story. Do you want a cookie for that? Newsflash: Sticking with the team when times are tough is what fans are SUPPOSED to do, what they are EXPECTED to do. You get NOTHING from me for that. And I don't like your condescending attitude, nor your very loose use of the term 'fair weather fan'. All the OP said was that he wasn't going to the football forum anymore, not that he was giving up on the program.

And oh by the way, I have no use for righteous, condesceding Vols 'fans' like yourself. So it goes both ways. So get off the OP.

The OP is right. Tennessee football is irrelevant. No, we aren't a basketball school, but if you were to view our athletic program from the outside looking in, you would see that the basketball program is in a much better place than the football program. That can't really be argued. I hate it too, but that's the way it is.

I care more about UT basketball than UT football, but it's more because of where I live than anything. Living in Louisville, I see Indiana, Louisville, and UK fans every day of every week of every year. I need my UT team to at least be decent so I can defend myself against those freaks. Haha. They're all insane and basketball is king, so when Tennessee is good, they can't quite give me the same crap as they have the last year or two.

No we will always be football first but I would honestly love to have a great basketball program (which we are on our way) and get back to where we were in football! Why not be great at everything?

I'm sorry I hurt your feelings, I didnt know that you would be so sensitive. The OP started a thread for no other purpose than to state he was not going to the football forum and we were now a basketball school...blah blah blah.

It was stupid and ridiculous and I stated as much, no I don't want a cookie, trying to cut back. LOL my only point was why start a thread like this, support all our teams during good and bad times. There was no reason at all for this thread.

I apologize for the hostility. My post came across far more harshly than I intended. I still politely disagree with you though, simply on the basis that anyone can start a thread if they so please. :hi:

He can start the thread all he wants too....it was just my opinion.....this all about fun anyways......nothing serious

Agreed, I'm in no way offended. If I have my opinions, then he has the right to his. We both also have the right to share them. No hard feelings to anyone. :hi:
