According to Rivals. :)

He's Troy Polamalu's cousin.

LB Maika Polamalu, 6-1/190, Pottstown (Pa.) Pottsgrove
2011 CLASS
CONSIDERING: He has a verbal offer from Penn State and has interest from LSU, UCLA, Pitt, Virginia, Clemson, Illinois, Rutgers, Syracuse and others.
PERFORMANCE: Polamalu rushed for 61 yards on offense and had numerous tackles on defense including at least one for a loss in a 35-14 win over Owen J. Roberts.
STRENGTHS: Polamalu is a very physical player, he sheds blocks well and he has excellent instincts. He has great bloodlines as his father, Al, played for Penn State, and his cousin Troy is an All-Pro safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He's also bigger than his listed size, looking closer to 200 pounds.
WEAKNESSES: He's not a quick-twitch athlete and speed is a concern if he wants to play offense at the next level. He's well suited for linebacker, but needs to add strength and can sometimes get engulfed by offensive linemen.

I'm going to clear this up for you because I like you. People know what fast twitch is. They make fun of you because you pretend to know how to evaluate it based on highlight films.

You're such a nice guy. I get that though. I'm just rolling with it.

Whats going on with this, do people not believe that there is such a thing as fast twitch and slow twitch muscles/players?

Don't get involved. Just step away from the keyboard.

Why? Cause I know what I'm talking about. I've played college ball and worked out my whole life. I speak the truth, training to be fast twitch is all about doing explosive exercises, power cleans for instance.

See that's not it though.

And here we go again. :eek:lol:

You started the thread. FYI...Michael Langston had this to say about Luc:

His freakish ability as a hitter, speed, and quickness is there he just needs to be coached up.

You are born with a certain % of fast or slow twitch bub. You can't train to be one or the other. :good!:

K. Listen. You can't change the muscle type you are. Its God given. period. Not saying you can't get quicker and more agile, but you can't change the type of muscle your born with.

This is true.

I agree with the ability as a hitter, he has decent speed for a MLB in a typical 4-3, I wouldn't describe him as quick myself.

Jeff Luc is a good solid prospect. I just thought he was overrated as the top LB prospect and a 5 * player.

Fast and slow twitch are based on your muscle fibers, sure some people are born with more then others. However; you can train your body to be more explosive by doing the correct exercises, not sure why that's difficult to understand....

People are born with different attributes that is true, but it is false that you can't increase your muscle fibers from slow to fast. Not saying you will go from being slow to incredibly fast, but you can increase your speed/agility. Which is directly related to your type of muscle fiber.:ermm:
