This happens every week in college football.

Michigan-Akron
UF-Toledo
Vandy-UMass
UGA-North Texas
Michigan-UConn
FSU-Boston College right now
USC-WSU

Those are just off the top of my head this year. Its not that uncommon. I've heard players say these are actually the toughest games to play. Be thankful we played bad today and won, and lets hope we got the bad game out of our system.

We had two turnovers in the red zone, another they returned to their red zone, and a freakish field goal return after would be TD or long run was called back after penalty

It's nothing more - we aren't good enough to win and make mistakes - Butch says it every week

D turned in on last series and we won - be happy

North Texas made the Georgia game interesting last week too, but everybody will keep freaking out ha

You are aware the Georgia beat North Texas by 3 touchdowns right? Not one touch down that was sealed by a red zone int? Anyway that is a bad reference

I don't know, seems like we had our hands on their football throat, they pushed away and kicked us in the proverbial football nads. From the knees, the INT happened.

Everyone knows that UT has no speed on the edges and we can not cover a fast TE in the middle of the field... Add a mobile QB and we really exposed a slow slow defensive team

You obviously didn't watch the game. That game was very close till the 4th and UGA pulled ahead. Looking at stats doesn't tell the whole story.

Newsflash: Bad teams hang in there against better teams all the time. Every Saturday there's always 3-4 games where I'm keeping my eye on the score and it looks like a major underdog is about to pull the upset, and then it doesn't happen.

The only reason USA was in this game is because Worley essentially gave them two 14-point swings. The offense was cruising in the 2nd quarter. We go up 38-7 and the game looks entirely different.

I'll be glad when Tennessee does "hang in there" against
better teams.

AND

The only reason South Alabama was in the game is because Tennessee is now a team on the same level as a South Alabama. the 90's are over, Tennessee is now one of the "cupcakes" the Good teams play now for easy wins.

UCF is a damn good football team.

Haha! You are correct, but you wouldn't be saying that if they were playing UT. You seem to revel in your negativity. There was plenty bad in today's game but there was plenty good also. They are building and growing. There is plenty to use for teaching from today's game and BTW UT did win the game.:peace2:

The receivers don't help much..see Josh Smith drop, North not going for the ball and Pig not finishing a route...yeah Worley is the only guy on the field

In fairness to North on that play I'm not sure he knew that defender was coming from, or that close from that angle. Hell he was double covered by two defenders right in front of him, surely he didn't suppose his quarterback would throw to him being triple covered haha.:peace2:

Not reveling, just commenting on what I saw and think as a result of the team's performance and venting some frustration... I admit it.

And no, we would lose to that very good UCF team IMO. I've been Pro Butch since about day 3 (was confused at first with his hiring), and I am still very much behind him. But I've seen virtually nothing on the field so far that makes me confident that we're progressing at the rate we should or that I certainly thought we would prior to the season. It just is what it is right now. I love Butch Sunday thru Friday .... he's giving me no reason to love him on Saturday so far.

I will be glad as well. Things happen though. It might be great but at least we won. Remember a few years ago Michigan vs appy state. Last year Florida vs Louisville. I would have taken an ugly win when we played UK and lost when they had a WR as a QB. OK state would have gladly taken an ugly win today.

The WRs look very frustrated out there. How many times did they run a route, come out of their break looking for the ball, only to see the ball go sailing by them nowhere near where they could've made a play on the ball? Answer: A lot.

That being said, getting a little frustrated with Smith and all the drops.... that's at least 5 the last 3 games. At least Croom seems to be picking it up. Didn't see him drop anything today. North had to make a body contorting grab behind him on a simple crossing route today... oh well.
