Someday we'll start to acknowledge and attempt to properly treat mental health issues. Until that day this ish will keep happening.

Probably has more to do with mental illness than selfishness...just a guess.

My thoughts exactly... I suppose it's possible the guy was just inherently evil but very unlikely. I know people who don't understand mental illness will throw a hissy fit over that concept but it doesn't make it any less true.

Murder/suicide is always, IMO, based in a mental illness, temporary, accute, or chronic. However, IMO, it is still a selfish act.

self·ish
ˈselfiSH
adjective
(of a person, action, or motive) lacking consideration for others; concerned chiefly with one's own personal profit or pleasure.

Once again... It's totally possible that you're right. There is a decent chance he thought if he couldn't have that family then nobody will. On the other hand, he may very well have thought he was doing what was best for all of them.

Anybody remember Richard Howard? He was from Oak Ridge, played for Tennessee and had a short stint with the Ravens. He did basically the same thing a few years back.

One of my best friend's dad is the one who pulled him over
