This is How Trump Destroys the Republican Party

This isn't a normal "we lost the election, now what?" situation. Usually, the departing president rides off into retirement and mostly keeps quiet while new leadership forms. You think that is going to happen next year?
I think Trump will have a loud voice in the GOP for the next two years. Simply because of his war chest he can donate in the midterms. After that I suspect he gets bored and goes back to enjoying life

Trump will not run again, but his nationalistic message will. I dont want a 81 YO President for a second time and Biden will be a one termer as well. The job puts grey hairs on youger ones and Biden already needs MSM assistance.

And this is not to say that older non political folks do not tpically have superior wisdom, far from it.

I still have my Goldwater bumper sticker (never used) and a campaign button from back then. My favorite Goldwater quote.................................."Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice."

If you ever decided to sell those ancient items you could probably get 25 cents or less. Congrats.

It's got to evolve.

I was once a registered Republican. I know, hard to believe, but true. It's simply not the same party anymore.

Fiscal conservative policy? Gone.

Free trade? Gone.

These are 2 extremely important points to me, at least. Until when and if I ever see that return to the party, I won't be back. And, obviously, if they were to even consider re-upping King Douchebag in '24, well yeah... never.
Lol someone who votes for this group of democrats talking about fiscal conservative policies. Hahaha
I think I speak for every R alive, we don’t need nor do we want you

I'm sure Monty is very disappointed he can't be in your club. I guess some other pledge will have to wipe your drool off the TV screen during Tucker Time every night.

I can assure you that you do not speak for every R alive. Maybe for the extreme, tin foil hat wearing wing nut brigade but not the moderates. And rest assured there are plenty of us who were critical in getting rid of the orange moron and are simply waiting on a good moderate Republican to come along to lead this party out of the mess it’s in now. You will need us more than we need you in 2024. If the party doesn’t bring moderates back into the fold, the same thing is going to happen. Write it down.

Hopefully the right wing, lunatic outlook prevalent on this board is not representative of the national average, but we are seeing indications that it is, that the Republican's Trump base hates Republican moderates with a mindless vigor similar to their hate for all Democrats. Trump threatens any Republican who does not obey his every whim with being primaried, with their political careers being ended. He is quite open about it, and he receives a good response from his base, to his demands for total personal loyalty. Republicans cannot win without that base. Can Republicans win without moderate Republicans? Where will moderate Republicans land if they have no future in their own Party?

No true R would ever vote for a radical and his slut like we have now. You are a radical fat left democrat just own it. We don’t need you people telling us who we should and should not nominate. Your party has your own problems, you all need to work on those before you worry about another party
