You don't have to come until the season starts. Fans are always going to make definitive pronouncements and your mission is two fold. Figure out who has the expertise to make that determination or adjust accordingly.
Your insights usually contribute nothing to the board except negativity. I like to remain Cautiously Optimistic. Some facts are out there all ready but your ignore them for your benefit to remain negative.
Free world choose your path wisely....
Sorry that you feel it is negative to point out that proclamations (stated as facts even) that we are going to be in better shape and give better effort than all of our opponents has no factual basis and has repeated every off-season for the past several years. I call it realistic. But then, I guess reality has been pretty negative for the Vols for at least the past 6 years. Doesn't mean we get to ignore it though or attack anyone else who mentions it.
Can't change the past, you think you are the only one dealing with the 6 year fiasco, no. We all are and some us have been through several periods like this one, but we are still hanging around.
One thing I learned is that you can't be cynical about every thing posted and show your colors. We have all been disappointed in this stretch, but negativity gets old and breeds negativity and gets old.
If you chose to drive a car forward looking only into the rear view mirror then that is your choice.
"Things don't change overnight," Jones said. "We live in an instant gratification society, I understand that, but we're going to build it the right way so it's set in stone for a very, very long period of time."
Right now Jones is stating and doing the right things on his best schedule to put a competitive team on the field.
Yet, you get upset and have to put those fans in a corner for being enthusiastic about Volunteer Football or where it looks like he may have this team headed.
Who really has a problem with this, You or them. Right now it would be safe to say You simply "Don't Get It or See It"
1. There is nothing wrong with asking for evidence or some factual basis from those who make broad proclamations that our team will give more effort than any other.
2. There is nothing wrong in pointing out that the same things have been said (with similar lack of evidence) in years past and hoping that one day the posters here will learn from history instead of continually repeating it.
3. "Instant gratification" has nothing to do with being a fan of a major college football team that hasn't even managed a winning season in 4 years.
I have a question for you:
Why are you here, in the middle of off-season?
I see you on here, just about every day, spewing out the same "VN sucks, people shouldn't be optimistic. We sucked last year, we sucked the 5 years before that. Woe is us, we all suck and we always will and my edgy and virulent responses will hold you kool-aid drinking stargazers in check".
Because you're just as recycled as the "this year is going to be different" crowd.
Why don't we just discuss the latest news without your sardonic crowd and then the try-hards looking for grammatical errors in a vain (and usually juvenile) attempt to be funny.
And your BGE avatar is stupid.
That is all, mock away!
Stating the obvious...
Because of the strong dependence on the incoming class, the EEs are going to really benefit by exposure to quick tempo during spring practices. Those joining the team later are going to have to catch up to the tempo. They'd better be mentally prepared!

This x 50 million.... God forbid FANS get excited about the team they love, what is the world coming to?
There is plenty to be excited about with the future of UT football. But the same fans that make the definitive statements like "UT will plau harder than every other team" will be the 1st ones to hit the panic button in Sept.

I have looked all over this site and I can't find the panic buttonwanted to hit it and see what happens...
Is this something Freak installs closer to the season? When can I expect to see it? Is there a post requirement? What color is it? How big is it? Does it make a sound? Can you state a source? I want proof this panic button exists.. you owe it to me to prove that there is such a thing as the panic button.
I hear about this panic button every year but I have never seen/heard or known of it ever actually being pushed! You would think our fans could learn from the past and understand not to push the panic button.
:loco: :hi:
Let the USU game be close. It's existence is made evident in threads penned at times in broken English by hammered and disappointed fans. You will know the panic button has been hit. You can't see the wind but you know it is there. The same with the VN panic button.
You can almost set your watch to the off-season comments/predictions on here.

Every year, we start out on paper, "who could beat us" as soon as the first kick off, it looks like a Chinese fire drill. Last year we seem to know what to do, just not enough good players. Every year on paper , it seems I could bet the house and not lose. Thankfully I have not had that kind of faith. I believe we can win six games and a bowl game. That to me is real. The local media can make you think we can beat anybody until the real world sets in
