this is the type of war we're fighting

These are un-uniformed terrorists we are talking about, who hide amongst the innocent civilian population from where they make their attacks, not only on uniformed combatants on our side, but also on any civilian or foreigner that could be a useful target to them, men (and I use that term loosely here) who use women and children for shields or combat targets. I would be okay with torture of any kind, to be followed quickly by a firing squad and a pine box with an inner lining of pig skin.

When they begin to wear uniforms and adhere in some remote fashion to the Geneva Convention, then I would reconsider my opinion.

Walking into a den of murderers with your hands tied behind your back is just plain suicide. Seems we would have learned that lesson in the days of Vietnam, but here we are again.

When did I say that? What do you know of why we dropped munitions in those places. Enemy use of civilian property is well documented and the Geneva Convention actually delineates rules for those very specific occasions. Regardless, that has nothing to do with the OP's comments, to which I was responding.

There was no reason militarily to bomb those targets, it was to demoralize the population. You see no double standard at all??

We are never going to get away from listening to idiotic civilians in control of things like ROE. It's a fact of life in a military that answers to a politician, but it's a very good system.

I don't disagree with that but there is such a thing as being realistic, and I don't mean to criticize our military at all, it's just some of the civilians who run it and historically have screwed over military men and veterans of conflicts since who knows when, for at least a century.

of course there is, but it isn't remotely limited to liberals nor is this link indicative of said treason.

I don't care what label you put on them, but I will say this; the liberal leadership since the assassination of JFK has been nothing but treasonous.

I thought I specifically mentioned that we are the heart and soul of the convention. We acknowledge that generally and our senior commanders spend many hours at CGSC and the War College and such discussing the slippery slope that such a situation fosters. Regardless, we shouldn't set our standards based upon what the bad guys might do.

So then what punishment do you supposed to put on enemies who violate said convention??

If we are going to fight an asymetrical war then we are handcuffing ourselves to go by rules about which the enemy could care less and this enemy will never surrender, if anything it will merely retreat into the mosques.

See bold.

More liberal treason, example A:

If dying is their ultimate end, why is waterboarding even a remotely viable info gathering alternative?

1. Because information can be gained so that planned operations by them can be thwarted and terrorist networks can be found out.

2. The higher you go in a terrorist network the less likely the perp is interested in dying and the more interested he is in power and wealth.

3. They are all really cowards at heart without even the honor of your average dog.

the next time I hear a liberal make the claim that one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter or that Islamic fascists are just like American Revolutionaries, I'm going to spit in their eye and show them this article.

But some here say that Islam is a peaceful "religion" and these are just a few extreme cases.

Are you kidding? It's exactly the same as selling our nuclear secrets to North Korea. Gimme a break you whiny liberal.

Did you ever think of yourself as a dangling participle on the body politic??

Not unlike a blood sucking tick in the ear of a dog.
