So you think we’re after someone with more baggage than Briles and this delay is the vetting process?

I believe TBs intel that Helton is being very candid with OCs about his time under Pruitt and the offensive team they would be inheriting.

Jack,
Just to be clear, that comment did not come directly from Tony Basilio's individual blog but rather one of his cohorts who goes by Orange Throat. This person's comments like several others working with Tony are included in the his daily talking points. I believe TB stated that he thought OT's comments were overly negative. "Whatever" is my opinion at this point. I don't think Tony, Throat, or any other sports radio guy knows the full story of this OC search. It is strange that neither JP and PF are giving a substantive status at this point. BTW, if the story line that they have no one chosen for OC is really true, it wouldn't be the first time that Doug Matthews has been wrong in the past couple years about a hiring. He was all but openly stating Philip Fulmer was going to be the next AD when Currie got the job.

I would love to hear what all the people on here that foam at the mouth anytime a poster dares suggest that Guarantano is not the answer, or that we need a new OL coach, have to say about what this article claims Helton had to say about those two facets of our offense.

Start by being able to hire an OC. Be great after that.
It starts with recruiting. This week was more important. No reason to hurry right now. On the recruiting front, we are doing just fine. Wanya Morris, Darnell Wright, Eric Grey, Jaylen Ellis, Harrison Bailey don't seem to mind. This staff is tight lipped, and rightfully so. The inmates don't run this staff.

Listen here mister, if you're gonna act like a child Imma treat you like one. Get out a pencil and piece of paper and write "We will hire an OC constantly whining about it won't help" 100 times. Let me know when you're finished.
Someone made the dog mad. I tried to tell them they were talking to you all wrong.

What a terrible looking website. Looks like someone in a 4th grade made it.

I think that is supposed to be one of his best qualities. So, yes.
One would think these men who make so much money coaching would all have an exceptional amount of leadership qualities. Or maybe it was always his bosses that could do that. good thing Phil has the situation in hand.

If we had our guy they would at least announce that he is finishing bowl season or NFL playoff season to drum up excitement. They don’t have anyone which is why they won’t even be that specific.

I'm not denying that we more than likely don't have one but the freak out from people is not needed.

Nebraska ended at 4-8 and lost their last game to a middle of the road Iowa team. The only noticeable win they had was over a mediocre Michigan State. Not sure I would consider that finishing strong.

I have to disagree. They started 0-6 and finished 4-2 in their final six games. The two losses were close and against teams that were unquestionably better than them. Iowa might be middle of the road, but the Nebraska team Frost took over wasn’t even on the road. What would you call finishing strong for a team in their position?

Hey, thanks, an actual comment about the topic and not about the stupid OC search in this thread. Not sure why this was moved to the NCAA forum when my question is about our staff compared to Nebraska situation. In any event, I agree that they finished strong given where they were when he got there. We had two nice wins and some positives, but the last two games certainly leave a bad taste going into next year. I'm thinking it might have been easier in the BIG than the SEC so maybe that factors in. I would like to think Pruitt has us headed in a good direction, but for now I simply think we have to wait and see. Not as many positives as they have going at Nebraska IMO.
