Man its the same thing every year.....when seeing a list of departing seniors I say, "Really, I remember when we recruited that guy. I didn't think he was a senior yet!". Of course, I still remember when Peyton committed to UT and others before him.

Talked to an OSU fan last night and he said he believes in 2 years the Vols will be back to a national powerhouse. He really likes Butch and is disappointed Hamilton cancelled the series we have with them.

We were talking about this in the Georgia night before thread and I didn't notice until that time a lot of the defensive front is upperclassmen as well. So losing an O line and a D line in the same year?

I'm not as worried about getting horses in as much as I am some solid mass on the line. But being said, it's hard to replace the sheer size of Tiny, Big Dan and James up front. Freaks of nature those are.

We'll miss RN more than people realize. Especially early in the season.

I just don't think our oline will drop off as bad as people think.

Agree, our current o-line is talented but have had multiple position coaches and systems which have limited their ceiling IMO.

Our current young guys will have experienced less turnover and more continuous time in the same system. They won't have as much cumulative experience as our current group, but more time in the current system. Also, they will all have had at least 1 year of S&C, and many of them at least 2 years of S&C.

I'm more concerned with the D-line. Our starters will be solid but depth will be a problem...

I remember thinking back in February 2010, "man, guys like Palardy, Smith, James, Stone, Fulton, Miller, and Neal are going to bring us back to the top."

So much talent and potential wasted by a fruitless coaching carousel.

I rode the elevator with Gregg King the night before the WKU game. Guy is huge, but too bad he hasn't been a big factor. He did make the comment, when I asked, "How's it going to go tomorrow?" That we were going to kill 'em. He was right.

Just FYI btw, but the UT Vols team and staff stay at the Crowne Plaza in Knoxville on the nights before the game, on floors 5 and 10 I believe.

You'll see them around the lobby or in the elevator, and it's nice to chat with them about the upcoming game.

Gregg seemed to be primed to make an impact when he was recruited from here in Memphis. Seemed big and athletic. I don't know the whole story, but my guess is his early injuries really effected his career and slowed him down. I really haven't seen him play much at all. Too bad for him.

We will get a few jucos to help out we have Lambert and hopefully get lance McDowell and maybe a freshman will step up we will still be thin tho

Yes, we shouldn't be as depleted as we were in 2009 - 2012 fortunately, but still a couple of years away from where we want to be.

It would be nice to get a JUCO like Mahelona, Chris Mims or Chuck Smith. D-linemen that contributed at a high level from day 1.

Sapp has been so good. Hope he gets a shot at NFL. Too bad he's just now getting into the game as a starter. Probably my favorite player right now. Oh and JRM. He's sick!
