Regardless of any side argument. IMO when we stoop down to torture and punishing people with out any evidence we are just as bad as the ememy. I think that America should set an example for the rest of the world. We need to treat our enemy as we want our POWs to be treated. And yes I know terrorists arent regular troops and dont follow any rules. That doesnt mean we act like them. Not to mention alot we detain are released because they are innocent. I can think of no reason ever to torture an innocent person.

This pathetic pacifist view somehow condones their skirting the Geneva Convention, but you want us following it to the T in dealing with their self described terrorists.

That's stupid. These aren't enemy soldiers. They're mercenary terrorists. Kill every swinging one of them and the world is a better place for the lesson.

Truer things haven't been said in this discussion.

I'm willing to give terrorists the same fair trial, that the victims of 9/11 and all other terrorists attacks received.

that's a great little story for a liberal. Fits perfectly in your academic setting that you're so proud of. However, in the real world, where greed, stupidity, malice, religious lunacy etc. exist, it's worthless. Some people only respond to the end of a rifle. We have to have solutions for them too. Mine would be performing the business of the business end of said rifle, but that's too harsh for many, so we have silly prisons like the one at Gitmo.

I think the biggest problem with this is people are making judgement calls on actions and an environment they don't understand. I hope for your sake you never have to understand that.

You're flat out ignorant if you think they're going to respect us, tell us truths or just give up their fight because we treat them amiably.

At least there is one intelligent poster here. No wonder Bush doesnt get it. Look at his supporters. Anyone who condones torture and murder is not a Christian and not a good person. The US is above things like this, thats why we are great. Terrorist or not no one should be murdered and tortured. If they have a trial and the evidence proves they have actually done something and they get the death penalty thats different.

America became great by kicking ass when it needed to, not by playing these pansy games the liberals like to play. Terrorists have no rights, and I wouldn't even go as far as to call them human.

We should as hell could use someone like Andrew Jackson right now. Instead, all we have is a Jimmy Carter. :(
