This One Needs to Count

That is the dumbest thing to say. So it should take 4 years to actually judge? I guess then Dooley deserved another year.

No. Year 3 is generally considered the year significant progress must show in the W column. It was that way with Dooley, it will be that way with CBJ. If we lose tomorrow, I will still have faith in CBJ to continue to lead this program in the right direction.

I understand our fan base's desire to start winning but you have to do so and maintain a grip on reality.

we have 20+ players in the 2 deep that are freshmen and that is huge. The thing about playing freshmen is they can really play above their experience level, but they will also make a lot of mistakes and no amount of coaching can stop all of these mistakes, some will happen no matter what and the only thing that will stop them is experience. That's the truth of the situation.

So people can get on here and say we will win, they can demand we will win, they can do the numbers and show statistically why we should win and heck they can even go sacrifice a goat for the win if they want but it wont change the fact we have 20+ freshmen playing in the 2 deep and you cant judge our team or coaches until we have enough recruiting classes to fix that.

I hope we win, I believe we will win and I think we should win, but I wont be upset if we don't, as long as we keep playing hard for all 4 quarters.

Because I can see the fact that with the way this staff recruits and the way this team is playing their hearts out that the wins will come and that's reality.

go vols !

Wylo:

Lets finish this year first. Your hyperventilating will be meaningless after we spank the Gators. I understand your frustration with not winning every game, but our patience will be rewarded. I've said time and again 3 years is enough time to get a judge of a coach. In the previous coach's case, we lost to Kentucky and were blown out in Vanderbilt. You can't get much worse than that. I think next year we will see a very young, talented team competing with anyone and winning.

The past two games we've had a board full of pre-game overly optimistic predictions of victory followed by legions of post game post game statements that those earlier predictions were just a reflection of fan loyalty and not to be interpreted as a basis for criticism. We'll we're finally here at home, favored by Vegas to beat a down and out rival team who's coach is on the ropes. Most of the recent posts on this board are full throated victory cries issued before the contest starts. So what I want to know is which of you are predicting a win because you really think we'll beat UF this Saturday?

I do...sign me up for the drought to end, tomorrow

Go Vols

If we stay healthy and special teams perform well tomorrow, which I think they will, we win.
Some possible freshman woes for Medley though (wilhoit said medley is 5/7 on the year but will undoubtedly go through some freshman woes per his interview on 3HL 104.5 the zone in middle Tennessee today) but I don't see the game coming down to a final seconds 50 yard field goal after a missed extra point like in 04.

I will say this.
Imo, this is the best legitimate shot at beating Florida in a decade. It is a great opportunity for the coaching staff to send a message to the fans that they are really turning the program around. Before any of you rabid Butch supporters start flinging feces at me screaming about how I want Butch, or any of the staff fired if they lose, that is not what I am saying at all. My only point is if the Vols fall short tomorrow, my own personal confidence in them takes a hit. On the other hand, if the staff comes out with a good game plan, has the team ready, and pulls out the victory? My personal confidence will double.

I truly believe we will win. However it will not be easy in anyway. Regardless of what people want to believe, UF is still a very talented team. They are also getting a good OL back. We win a close one.

well said, the team has a chance tomorrow to wipe away almost decade of losses, and CBJ can see even more fans rally behind him, with a win
As down, as Florida is this is the year
