This Photo Sums it Up

Right. It's not like other politicians haven't had the aid of the teleprompter. Romney, Paul, Ryan, Bush, Biden, etc.

I don't understand why your hatred of him in other areas is blinding you to the fact that he is great public speaker. I am not saying that exceptional public speaking skills equals being a great leader or a great president; but to simply deny or try to belittle his public speaking makes you look foolish.

he was a great public speaker when he was a candidate. Then, he was still a relatively unknown commodity and could say things and make promises that only a candidate can get away with. Four years on, with a track record that completely contradicts his rhetoric, the shine has worn off.

I find his speaking predictable and repititous and totally uninspiring. It's usually a lecture not a speech.

Yeah. His tone has changed. Then again, running an inspiring campaign on the heels of a very unpopular President from the opposite party is a lot easier than running a campaign based on your record in office which has been abysmal.

Regardless, he is a natural and an exceptional speaker. Up there with Reagan, stateside. Neither touch the all time great from the other side of the pond.

Yes and no.

After six years on the scene, we are use to how he speaks. We are "spoiled" for lack of a better word. His message and tone are different this time around, as well they have to be. However, he still runs circles around Romney as far as public skills and communication is concerned. That is blatantly obvious.

Romney has given some pretty good speeches. However, they weren't given in front of faux Greek columns and no one was fainting in the aisles. Teleprompter Jesus is a tough act to follow when he has the BS turned up to 11.

I disagree. Even in 2008 I could cut through his BS with a knife. It was hokey. I personally thought Clinton was much better.

I haven't seen a speech of his that I could declare "good". He is certainly better than Bush. Romney generally sticks to his vague talking points. His delivery and charisma is on par with his personality...boring. In one on one situations, he is awkward.

You favor Romney's speeches more because the content is more to your liking. Perfectly natural tendency.

Oh no doubt. Nothing but BS. The way he connects with his audience and those who are on the fence about him is amazing. The dude has charisma out that ass. It is pretty incredible to watch if you don't let your own partisan politics blur your judgement.

Clinton wasn't that great of public speaker in the way of speeches. The one thing he really excelled at is in one-on-one situations and press conferences. Something no one has been able to rival since (well maybe Christie).

I'm willing to bet $100 you have never even listened to a speech of his from beginning to end

a truly gifted public speaker doesn't need a crutch like a teleprompter.

Hard to tell. In the modern era, everyone uses the teleprompter. Thus all have been trained on the teleprompter. If the teleprompter had not been invented, the current crop of politicians would have skilled their profession without it. Since, everyone uses one, you have to judge them accordingly.

The best public speaker of modern times never used a teleprompter. He often never went by a script either.

I totally disagree with this. A truly gifted public speaker knows to use whatever tools are at his disposal. That is the first thing you learn in any public speaking course

Guy makes me sick whenever I hear him speak.

Then again, whenever he speaks, all I hear coming out of his mouth is "I want your money Neo. You suck Neo. You didn't build that and you owe everything you have to me and the government. I'm coming for you buddy and I'm gonna turn America on you like a pack of wild dogs."

I really don't think he makes gaffes, I think he slips up and tells us who he really is.

What's funny is that those who seem to defend Obama the most and down Romney, claim they are voting for Johnson.

That doesn't make sense to me since if they are really libertarian then they wouldn't be defending the most commusnist party affiliated, outright statists since FDR.

You are clueless.

I am an obvious Libertarian Johnson supporter but I'll only speak for myself an not all those who "claim they are voting Johnson".

This board is fairly Republican. Thus, the board is typically going to be ra ra Romney and very hostile to Obama regardless of whether it is justified criticism. I bust chops on both sides. With more ra ra Romney posters than Obama posters, it is only natural that I statistically bump heads more often with Romney posters than Obama posters. In no way does that mean I like Obama. Not a hard concept to grasp.

True, if you have any ability to grasp simple concepts. Remember who you're attempting to talk to.

I'm really not trying to be a jack ace here but weren't you about 5 - 10 years old during all his speeches?
