If you guys think that this season is over than your not a real Ut fan this is when you need to support the team the most. Ut has a whole lot to play for.(Bama & ND). And who know we still can finish in the top 10 and have an 11 and 2 season and produce some great draft picks. Please don't give up on the team. They are playing hard.

Correction: The DEFENSE is playing hard. The offense has yet to show up for a game.

Nobody is giving up on the Vols. It's just hard to get excited about a season that no longer matters.

Obviously the season isn't over. It would go on if we didn't even take the field for the rest of our games. If you aren't disappointed that we have lost to UGA and UF because our offense and special teams suck badly, then good for you. But don't start throwing this "you aren't a real fan" crap around.

It can still be salvaged with a win over Vandy. Then you will be the best team in the state of TN.

I've followed Vol football for 40 years and have been the eternal optomist. But I have to face the facts: this year is down the tubes. The only Atlanta trip we can hope for now is the Peach Bowl. Game over! Hoping for something special next year.

I am not giving up. Just stating the obvious. Offense sucks, defense cant play on third and long, Randy Sanders don't know football like he needs too, recivers can't catch, got two qb's who can't throw. the list goes on and on

I just choose not to wear O&W glasses. Get back to me when UT is playing in Nashville in December.

We can still play for respect... But we have lost the division now. This year I expected a division title at the least.

The season is not over but our hopes for an SECCG appearance are over. Hard to sugarcoat that fact at the beginning of October when all of us had big hopes for this season including our coach.

We have a 2 million dollar coach who has fielded an offense ranked 90th in the NCAA and special teams that are the worst I have ever seen as a Vol fan.

I am supposed to be happy about that?

Maybe I am not a real fan in your eyes but I can tell the truth and if it hurts so be it.

the only thing that can salvage this season would be an upset win at UNDEFEATED alabama.

i hope they meet us unbeaten.

We should start playing the freshman. Get them seasoned for next year. RC should swallow his pride and give the riegns back to Ainge now we are out of the championship hunt. THis is all about the future now.

SEC hopes are down the craper! :banghead: But they don't need to give up! If they could go 11-2 this year that would be great!!!

:w00t: Beeing rated real high preseason is a disadvantage. But a good season cans still be accomplished even if we dont win out. I think if we can change the mental frustration of the team, it would be a huge step.

Im like most here who wants some heads to roll but we got to remember we play in an extremely tough conference with well coached teams and even if we had hands down the better team we can still lose.

They key to the rest of the season is gaining back fan support and confidence.

I certainly agree with the "well coached teams". I heard one analyst talking about how Georgia's coach managed the game with the use of timeouts. Every time we had momentum he would call a timout and slow things down. I heard Kevin Simon talking about this also. Simon talked about the slowness factor and how it works against his type of play. Point is that it seems to me that we are not only outplayed by these teams but also outcoached!

Another thought, being ranked high in preseason is always a disadvantage if you don't have the stuff to back it up! We seem to be an average team that continues to underfunction at this point. Please save us from the preseason hype! We are not able to live up to all the projections!

I have said it before, and I'll say it again. If being a UT fan means
high-fiving over an 11-2 season (and, gents, that AIN'T happening...have you looked at the rest of the schedule?), then I'll just have to take a miss. Mediocrity is not my objective, and it shouldn't be the objective of anyone who calls him- or herself a competitor.

Apparently, it IS good enough for those who defend Sanders (and PF if he doesn't get rid of that waterheaded boob).

Is this crap really necessary?

1. The season IS over, when your "season" began as #3 in the country and hopes of a national championship run with the best receiving corps in football and a Heistman candidate at RB.

2. Being pissed and disappointed is part of being a fan. If we didn't care, we wouldn't hurt.

3. What team are you watching? Obviously not UT. Playing hard???? Please -- Countless stupid penalties. Dropped balls. An overthrown "gimmie" in the endzone. Fumble. Fumble. Idiotic penalties on every decent special teams return. Crap off the punter's foot. 5 yard passes on 3rd and 15.

I'm not giving up on the team, I'll be a Vol 'till the day I day, but face the facts, my friend: we are in trouble.
