SEC hopes are down the craper! :banghead: But they don't need to give up! If they could go 11-2 this year that would be great!!!

Well said Kiddiedoc.

This season IS over indeed. I am very angry because the horrible coaching, stupid errors and countless other shortcomings have robbed me of what was supposed to be a special year. We are not always going to win the SEC or the NC. Most of us realize that. But with this team and the potential it had, it is an unusually difficult pill to swallow. Maybe we can beat an undefeated Alabama and that will help with the disappointment (frankly I think they are going to beat us to a pulp in Tuscalooser) but for the most part, the season that was supposed to be is over and we will have to wait for eleven more months to see what next year brings. Hurray....

The season is over and there is no way we are going to go 11-2. Now I will be rooting for tennessee for every game, but 11-2? come on guys no way that happens. Alabama is proably going to smoke us, even though it is kinda wierd that they lose there best reciver and then we lost our best corner.

i am not giving up but it did seem the coaches gave up with 6 minutes down 2 scores and we punted. i think that is metally tough and is why the d gave up that last score. i still believe that we can go 11-2. we just suck at home for some reason. we havent looked good all year except during the second half of the lsu game. but if we get past bama(no easy task) then we have the potential for a decent season and a january bowl.

I have said it before, and I'll say it again. If being a UT fan means
high-fiving over an 11-2 season (and, gents, that AIN'T happening...have you looked at the rest of the schedule?), then I'll just have to take a miss. Mediocrity is not my objective, and it shouldn't be the objective of anyone who calls him- or herself a competitor.

Apparently, it IS good enough for those who defend Sanders (and PF if he doesn't get rid of that waterheaded boob).

Is this crap really necessary?

1. The season IS over, when your "season" began as #3 in the country and hopes of a national championship run with the best receiving corps in football and a Heistman candidate at RB.

2. Being pissed and disappointed is part of being a fan.  If we didn't care, we wouldn't hurt.

3. What team are you watching?  Obviously not UT.  Playing hard????  Please -- Countless stupid penalties.  Dropped balls.  An overthrown "gimmie" in the endzone.  Fumble.  Fumble.  Idiotic penalties on every decent special teams return.  Crap off the punter's foot.  5 yard passes on 3rd and 15.

I'm not giving up on the team, I'll be a Vol 'till the day I day, but face the facts, my friend:  we are in trouble.

God Bless this commentary, we will lose 3 more games. The VN MUST wake and see the real problem. Randy Sanders.

i will agree with you to never give up. but at this point you have to agree that this season is starting to hit the gray area. our defense is doing a great job but on offense if you can not generate points, well the clock keeps ticking. all lot of bad things will have to occur for georgia and florida. that possibility is slim to none. we still can hope for a good bcs bowl. bottom line is that if we were 0-11 i still would stand with them, tennessee football is the greatest in the SEC (one heck of a conference).

It always will be as long as losing doesn't matter.

Not this year it isn't. You know I kind of feel your pain because last year UF was in a similar predicament as you guys are in now. It was so hard to wait another whole year for redemption. This off-season is going to be the longest for you guys.

I understand what you are saying, but I think as long as they are still putting on the uniform, there is something to play for.

The third Sat in Oct is ALWAYS something to play for. Doesn't matter if we are 5-0 or 0-5.

i agree with you lexvol about the alabama game being important, but we have slim to no chance to win that game. i've already counted it as a L.
