This show-cause is great for Pearl.

He can finally learn how to evaulate talent!

From ESPN:

"However, it does allow any of the four, if they were to be hired during their show-cause periods, to evaluate talent."

You darn right he was

I say we hire him back if Cuonzo fails after the 3 year show cause is over. I'm probably in the minority but I am an Alumnus and supporter so I do have an opinion. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance to make right.

As an alum, I agree with this statement.

The way you will know that could happen is whether he keeps his home in Knoxville or not. If he sells and leaves - not likely. If they just sell and downsize he may be hanging around just in case. His wife is a local and it is well known she does not want to move.

Heard he had the best bbq's too.

I can appreciate educated, mature criticisms of Pearl's tenure, and there are several to choose from as well as several positives. However, statements like your above quote are nothing more than stale rhetoric that people use when they have nothing clever and productive to say in response. The BBQ comments, the infidelity comments, etc.; they all fall into this category.

I think a 3 year show cause is too harsh for the crime he committed. Two would have been closer. But yes, I would love to see him back on the HIll. He loves UT, and he has paid his price so I think he'd try that much harder to correct his mistakes.

Coach Martin appreciates the vote of confidence!

His infidelity was a blaring example of foreshadowing. Don't say you weren't warned.

Pearl might be the most promoter in the country. There's no denying that.

He also is nothing more than an above average coach and a snake.

His infidelity or lack of had nothing to do with what kind of coach he was. If all men are graded on that then the majority of them would be labeled as failures.

A person who lies and cheats in their personal life are not going to just shut the switch off when they go to their job.

And speak for yourself in the majority of men bull.

I am speaking for myself. However, to think that because he cheated on his wife made him a bad coach is horsesh*t. What someone does in their own life is their own business not mine. I could give two sh*ts what they do. Sticking my nose in their business is none of my business.

It's high comedy to watch people get on their moral high horse and act like it affects them personally. How does that change your life in any way? Not one damn bit and it's comical to watch supposed grown men act like it does.

This world has seen a number of men in positions of power and leadership and a number of them were not monogamous and they still did a great job. To think that changed how effective they did their job is projecting just a tad.

He was a mediocre coach while being a great promoter. The fact that he was the equivalent of pond scum in both his personal and professional life means something to many of us.

I will guarantee if he didn't wear orange suspenders you would be in the camp of calling him scum as well. The guy is a liar. Plain and simple.

And every bit of his ignorant moves are part of public knowledge. No one is sticking their nose in anything.

And good for you not giving two sh*ts. Less people yelling "Broooooooce" in TBA and just showing up to hope for a free Chick-Fil-A sammich is a good thing.
