This staff vs our biggest rivals.

I think it is fair to say you cannot compare UT to UGA and Bama.
Mizzou, LSU and Ole Miss (and maybe UF, but not really) are all in the "next tier down" that we would want to be in.

Of course there are but judging a coach against teams no one else is beating seems irrational. Either that or it's chosen for a reason
Plenty of people are beating Florida. We aren't. Not on the field or in recruiting. What's the excuse?

There’s not one. We should be better against Florida, but we haven’t.

The rest of your complaints are either completely wrong or simply invalid. Like crying about our inability to beat a team that no one has beat in 3 years

Again, you're missing the point with Georgia. Vanderbilt was more competitive against Georgia this year than we were. There isn't an excuse for getting smoked by 30-40 points every year. We should absolutely be competitive in those games. You're coming at me with a loser's mentality.
Georgia hired a guy and figured it out quickly. No reason this program shouldn't be able to do the same.

The loss against UF was the worst loss. Missouri shouldn't look that much better than us but they did..The other two weren't surprises. The problem is the way they got beat.. Coaching has looked pretty bad at times. Came out flat a couple of times with a lot on the line.. The penalties, clock management, head scratching personnel decisions doesn't paint a great picture. Got outclassed today and I get that. The other crap they should be able to get somewhat corrected over the course of a year you would think..

So you are upset we didn’t hold the ball, try to slow the game down, and keep it close?

You may not have noticed this, but Georgia is much better today than they were when they played Vandy too.

Your entire mentality is “we should have lost closer” but everyone else has the loser mentality?

Not at all what I'm saying either. We can't hold the ball for long at all because we struggle to get first downs, let alone score.

Tennessee has the talent to beat everyone on the schedule, with the potential exception of Georgia. We should be pulling out all the stops against a team like that today. Instead, we just trot out there and expect what we've done all year to work well enough to win. It's asinine. Kicking field goals from 60 yards down 4 scores is laughably soft.

It's perfectly fine to criticize the coaching staff and the product on the field right now. People like you need to stop balking at said criticism because we beat Alabama on a last-second field goal a year ago, or whatever your reasons are for why everyone should just chill out. You're acting like it's just no big deal that we have serious problems right now.

All of the wins were in 1 year. Time will tell how much of a fluke those are
Could also tell you that Heupel has only been Tennessee's coach for 3 seasons .... and his win over Alabama is Tennessee's only win against them since 2007 ....

The defense is much improved. What are you talking about

Defensive front yes, linebackers in run defense yes but are atrocious in pass coverage. DBs as a whole don’t belong in the SEC.

And all the previous coaches post Fulmer were 0fer against Bama and only 3 combined wins against Georgia. Plus that was before Kirby Smart had built his teams into Bama 2.0. If some of these folks got their wish and Huepel was let go we wouldn’t make a bowl game for a decade. Lord have mercy on these morons who think our team should never lose a single game.

Two of those teams are the absolute best in the country and loaded. You're counting games where our roster was in the 60s. They field 5 stats and we sub in walk ons. The uf losses do hurt but calling for heads based on their records vs teams no one else is beating either seems pretty unreasonable

Explain Mizzu?

I don’t t really take issue with being 2-7 vs the big 3 for now. Heupel inherited a dumpster fire. What I do take issue with is how soft these players are. There’s no leadership on the team. I do agree on the coaching changes though. Banks, Martinez, and Hazel have to go. Particularly Hazel and Martinez.

Nobody's out here saying Heupel should be let go, including me. That is beyond dumb to suggest right now.
Coaching staff changes need to be made. We're way past having that debate at this point.

Agree that getting better players is the answer. Not sure that these guys will be able to do it consistently and fast enough to appease the fanbase and boosters. I hope I’m wrong.

In the last 8 quarters, Tennessee has scored 17 points, given up 74 points against the two best teams in the East Division this year, looking at a best case scenario of 4-4 in the conference this year, we should win all of our buy games, so 8-4 is our best this year after getting embarrassed in Gainesville and Tuscaloosa, no indication it will be any better next year absent some wholesale changes to bring this program into the competitive framework necessary to be a top tier team (not the best) in the SEC,

Heupel has a tremendous amount of upside with talented and competent coordinators capable of being competitive in the SEC, but he has to have a defense and the offense has to have a top tier quarterback to make it all work in a hurry up, spread the field framework, Bob Stoops was not impressed with his ability as an offensive coordinator at Oklahoma and terminated his tenure there, when White Danny put the call into Heupel at Central Florida, Power 5 conferences were not beating down the door to lure him away from Orlando, particularly after sliding from the Scott Frost foundation he inherited, I think Heupel has to look beyond the $9 million a year to see what he really wants to do going forward, the problems with the 2023 team are obvious, but I'm not sure Heupel gives two hoots about results with a 55 yard field goal try tonite, down 3 touchdowns in the second half, when most Tennessee fans do want to see the team be competitive,

We've seen champions of life, need championships that are evidenced by trophies not feelings
