Is just fun to watch play basketball. Can't remember watching a grittier team in the SEC in the past several years.

Pearl's first year?

Not going to start that argument...

I'm just happy this team is above .500 now. I believed Martin would lead us to a better record from the start but I'm patient. I had a little higher expectations. I'm in his corner though regardless of my like for Bruce.

Hopefully he can keep it up and get more of these quality wins in the future. On top of beating the bad teams that they should have beaten.

You are really complaining that you had higher expectations for a team that upset UCONN and Florida twice with this talent?

...yeah, that one is a little hard to figure.

Don't be disappointed when the football team wins 8 next year.

Congrats UT. You guys came to play today; we didn't.

Patric young is the biggest wuss ive ever seen.

at first glance dude is scary looking, when you let hall push you around you should have a spot in the locker room, not even the bench.

to me they physicality inside to start the game set the tone, we wanted to play, uf shyed away from it.

Good point. UF is finesse. UT is gritty.

Higher expectations? This team was picked to finish 11th out of 12 in this league. Very thin on talent, but they are tough. I think CCM has done a very solid job. Let's finish strong and give the tournament committee something to think about.

I'm complaining? Beating Uconn and Florida twice is three quality wins. Losing to Oakland, Austin Peay and Charleston is three bad losses. I'm not complaining, I'm stating facts. The team is hot and cold, they win 3 good games, lose 3 bad ones and that's why they're .500. I wasn't complaining at all. If you equate stating facts to complaining, maybe you should complain because you're unhappy with the facts. They are what they are... 13-12 with some good wins and some bad losses. I said I support him. Sorry if the truth hurts?

We are making up for the 2 very close losses we had to UF last year. Does anybody know how long the Bama players are suspended for? This team may make a serious run at the end of the year if we can win that game.

They were picked to finish by 11th by who? There are 1,000 analysts making predictions. They compete against the top teams and have lost to some bad ones. The talent is obviously there. So yeah, I had higher expectations because I believe in our coach.

these team is not that talented, the coach has done a great job developing these guys and coaching them.

you are going to get inconsistent play from an unexperienced team, thats gonna happen sorry.

No. My expectations were to have a winning record and not lose to bad teams after they went down to the wire against Duke and Memphis.

The same reason they beat Uconn and Florida is why I had expectations for a winning record. This isn't a bad team... they just have some bad losses.

I seriously don't know when our fan base started having low expectations. It's not even like I said anything bad. I just said I expected a little more. Suddenly you have to accept crap and can't even say "I expected more" without upsetting people. You'd think I were in the group calling for Dooley and Martin's head. Part of the people saying they suck. All I said was I'm happy with the win and I support him. I mention his poor losses and expecting a better record and people throw feces. Great... you're mad at me for bringing up the teams losses, all 12 of them. I'm the bad guy for bringing up the Austin Peay loss.

I could care less what other people predicted. Everybody on this site had a prediction along with every other person who watches sports. I don't care what other people expected. I'm a fan, I support this team and I expected more than being .500. Again, sorry if this offends anyone. It's not like I've insulted Martin or called for his head. I just expected more and have said I'm willing to give him time. I'm such an unreasonable person...

Not sure Oakland or Charleston were bad losses. Both are potential NCAA tournament teams and we lost at their home court. Austin Peay was a bad loss. So was Georgia at Athens in OT. We should have beaten UK at home and MSU on the road also. We need to beat Arky the next game at home. I don't think they have won on the road...the NIT is looking better right now.

Do you know the difference between realistic and low? It's not that everyone here has low expectations, it's just they knew the situation going into this season (low talent, inexperienced, etc.) and predicted accordingly.

Look I love the football team to death, but I'm not predicting a national championship next year just because I'm a fan.

Did we not lose to Oakland and CoC last year? I know we did to one. Replace Austin Peay with Indianapolis. Just saying...

I really wish this would be the end of the Pearl comparisons. This is Martin's team, and i'm damn happy to have him as our coach, and turn our players into upstanding men and good teammates.

Oakland is one game above .500. That was a bad loss.
