Yea, until the team undoubtedly went on one of its' patented scoring droughts, & he quickly realizes the answer to said drought is sitting on the bench. No one else on the roster can/will consistently put the ball in the basket, or create their own offense. And, until Barnes starts recruiting guys like that, it ain't gonna change.
You mean like Grant Williams, Kevin Punter, Kennedy Chandler, Dilione, Keon Johnson, Springer, Lamonte, Julian Phillips and among others. Man if he would only recruit top 50 guys who are the top prospects in their states and were prolific scorers in high school and summer teams like these guys.

I agree Knecht is a different caliber of offensive player than what we’re accustomed to seeing. Some guys just know how to score. He’s not particularly fast but he can jump a lot higher than it appears. He’s a special player.

Neither team played any freshmen in this one, which is why Dilione, Estrella, Phillips, etc., didn't see the floor. The veterans showed they knew how to play well together & shut down the Illinois offense, holding them to 35% shooting for the game. Big win on the national CBS TV stage with Bill Raftery as the color commentator in Knoxville. Road to the Final Four started in Food City Center today.

Anytime that you can get a win over an ACC or Big Ten school, that is a big boy victory.

Rewatched a lot of the game last night and it was interesting to hear what I would consider one of the better network commentating teams talk about our team. Both Wright and Raftery spoke highly of the Vols calling specific strengths, weaknesses and things to look out for. You could tell they actually scouted the Vols. Most promising was hearing them confidently say that this team is a legit final four contender based on what they've seen.
I thought the same thing. I expected at any time to hear a Big10 skew, but they were actually very balanced.
