If recruiting is going to be such a tough thing to do, would it be better to fire Pearl and get a coach with a better reputation on the trail. Or just go on with Pearl and limited recruiting and a bad rep.

That's the decision UT has to make. They have to balance how badly they want to retain Bruce Pearl with the realities of the situation.

I think the main thing you hit on was that the NCAA will not be more lenient than the SEC was. No way they want to be "shown up" by Slive. I think Bruce is done at UT.

I just heard on ESPN that they were considering banning him for the entire conference season.

Hat, what kind of sanctions do you think we're looking at if Pearl is fired before the NCAA announces anything?

And do you think a combination of this and baseball violations could result in severe sanctions for football due to a lack of institutional control?

Pearl's termination would remove the need for substantial penalties against the program.

There likely won't be a finding of lack of institutional control. UT can make a compelling case that the only real problem is a rogue baketball staff.

That's a relief. I have no idea what's going on with baseball or what even happened, I'm just hoping it's nothing to make anything worse. I'm sure USC doesn't give a damn about women's tennis, but it's still something that was used against them.

Baseball was like the picture deal. NO BIG DEAL> A grad assistant was acting s a coach which is minor infraction.

golf is lame. its america's croquet. not really a sport when 3/4ths of athletes cant, and dont for that matter, want to play. its a niche or hobby for old dudes who still fantasize about rita hayworth and judy garland.
