golf is lame. its america's croquet. not really a sport when 3/4ths of athletes cant, and dont for that matter, want to play. its a niche or hobby for old dudes who still fantasize about rita hayworth and judy garland.
I vote we keep him regardless of what the NCAA does.
I agree. The violation has already happened. The punishment is a decision out of Pearl's control. He should have already been fired, if they were going to do that. Since they didn't fire him before, why should they now?
I think this will be in our rear-view mirror by next fall.
Pearl's termination would remove the need for substantial penalties against the program.
There likely won't be a finding of lack of institutional control. UT can make a compelling case that the only real problem is a rogue baketball staff.
Really? Did you see the SEC suspension coming too?
Like I said, if any of you do not think Pearl isn't going to be at UT then you need to keep up. Hamilton and others have known that this was possible. Also, none of you are mentioning that Gottlieb's sources told him that Slive, a guy who was on the NCAA appeals process, levied this in hopes to bring closure to this with the NCAA. Slive is a smart guy, and he knows what to do to help his consistent money maker in SEC basketball.
:lolabove:
We are his consistent money maker in basketball? Seriously? Ever heard of the school called "Kentucky"? And I bet Florida has made more basketball cash than UT this year.
I don't think Pearl is gone. However, I wouldn't be surprised, and if any postseason ban comes out, he should be gone.
If you think Pearl is good as gone then you need to keep up.
I'm tired of hearing about this. All pub is NOT good pub and I bet recruits are taking notice. Good thing Ware and Jones are already inked.
We shall see...if the NCAA hands down a stiff penalty ( which if you read the blog by Hat, he makes a good point st to why it may still happen ) he could and should be gone.
I love Pearl, he is the best coach in UT history, at the same time, he isn't bigger than the University.
